❓ So what's the deal with the officiating so far this year?

Here are a couple of theories:

4) They've decided they want be called "villans" rather than officials. Apparently they think it will be a big benefit to the collective health of the "beautiful game". This leads to point 3 below.

3) After all the press some of the bundesliga officials got for their involvement in fixing games, the MLS decided "at this point any press coverage has got to be good coverage, lets do the same thing".

2) The poor officiating thus far is an attempt to get the league to pay for LASIK eye surgury for all officials.

1) They've never heard the number one rule of officiating - "let the players decide the outcome!"

Feel free to add your theories.

After this weekends games, particullarly RSL vs. Chivas and L.A. vs. Colorado I'm thinking it's got to be number 1. Not to mention the Eddie Pope incedent, a.k.a. footage for the up and coming "Learn to be an Actor" video starring Eddie Johnson.

I got a call from a league official telling me that they're watching Kreiss very closely.

Are you serious? If you are, why? What are they watching him for?

I'm joking. You might recall a certain NBA coach got in trouble for saying the same thing about Yao Ming. That's what my reference was alluding to.

Okay, gotcha. I thought you were probably joking, but just wanted to make sure. Who knows, you might actually have some inside source. 🙂

:D Nice. At least putting a humorous spin on it keeps me from pulling my hair out. I hope things improve on Saturday 'cause if the officials hand LA another win like like they did against the Crapids I'll be waiting for them after the game with a 3 iron. :D

We can't pull an UNAM, the riot police were needed to get the officials off the pitch of last night's CONCACAF Cup final.
