Noisemakers and Soccer Matches

I am disappointed with U of U's policy of no noisemaking devices at any games (I assume this is U of U policy and not RSL). How strict are they in enforcing this?

I went to Denver in 2002 to see a Rapids/DC United match followed by USA/Mexico exhibition, and the stadium was full of noisemakers! A handful of fans brought airhorns, and it seemed like there were thousands of plastic horns blowing all game that fans had bought at concession stands! It made for an excellent atmosphere, even though us gringos were outnumbered 3 to 1 in a home game!

I hope RSL can start selling those plastic horns at some of their home matches, and especially June 4th so we can have an extra noisy qualifier!

BOO! HISS! BOO!

Those plastic horns are the bane of MLS Soccer!

I hope they never... EVER allow those things!

You will find that you are in the extreme minority when it comes to plastic horns.

I think we can make enough noise with the things hat are already allowed.

I think that all plastic horns should be used for the only thing that they are good for. I'll leave it up to your imagination to figure out what that is.

And yes, it has something to do with the terrible refs we've been getting lately. 😲

Watching the Chivas game was annoying for more than one reason... obviously, but one of them was the horns blaring throughout the WHOLE game. Listen, it is one thing to cheer and chant and blah blah blah but to have to listen to those horns all game... AAAARRRRRGGGGHH. I guess I'm fonder of the human voice than some loud obnoxious unmeaningful horn.

wow, quite the rant. 😲

ya i fully agree with you guys on those things. they are sooooo annoying. a couple months ago i went to a ihl hockey game in portland (go winterhawks) and these kids sat behind me and my friends and blew on those horns all freaking night, even blowing them between our shoulders and right above our heads. i wanted to turn around and beat the hell out of those kids with the damn things. man they are so annoying and distracting. i felt i missed a lot of the game just wincing and turning around every 15 seconds when they were going off. now that i think about it, how do kids have the energy and lungs to blow on those things for 2 straight hours? man i must be getting old.

What exactly is the policy for bringing in drums? I noticed that there were a couple of drummers in the loyalist section, and I wanted to bring one on Saturday to help out.
