LA vs. RSL [R] May 14th

Hello SLC!!!!

Good job guys a 2-1 result was excellent. Can't say that RSL out played the Gals but it was the end result that matter.
Kovarski with a goal in the late first half, then Pope answers with a redirected corner for a goal in the early 2nd. Kreis put the home side away with a nice chip mid way thru the 2nd. All defense from there on, with some still nice chances by RSL.
It was nice to see Trembly, Rojas and Whitfield get some time. It was really great that the #2 GK showed his money. Nolly is awesome. He made some outstanding saves.

Sorry Donovan, thats a big fat ZERO on the goals for this one.

And can some please shut Hopkins and Bretos up? They are terrible homers, worse in MLS (even Chivas homer announcers are less annoying).

GO REAL!

Gutsy, gutsy win by RSL to grab three points the Galaxy expected to take.

Mute button in operation for this one--Bretos and Hopkins could only see one team on the field, and it wasn't the team that won. Funny how they cut out right after the final whistle--no congratulatory post-game.

Surprising how our bench came through while LA's most decidedly did not. I didn't expect that, so good on the coaching staff for preparing the guys for what they would face.

Kreis gets #95 on his best goal yet in the cobalt and claret . . . er, blue and red.

But Eddie Pope gets my nomination for MOTM. He anchored the defense as usual, clearing every cross anywhere near him and organizing the back four. But he also scored the tying goal, changing the nature of the match and setting up the win.

The crowd was outstanding again, at least from what I could see on TV. Loud, soccer smart, and the biggest attendance of the day for MLS.

Radio broadcast quite good too. More rep to Wayne Scholes and Ryan Hatch.

End result--a game that is definitely one to build on.

👍

That game was so awesome I just about pee'ed my pants! First game (of many now that I'm a season ticket holder) in the Loyalists section and had a blast! Brought my brother and his wife along. Now we just got to take out our revenge on the Chivas!

GO REAL!!!

😎

It was an excellent game. Highlight: Jason Kreis doing a roundoff-backflip to celebrate his 95th goal! I loved it.

But to me, being in the Loyalists section, beating on my drum, keeping the beat going for almost the whole game. That was great!

If anyone has a tape or CD of the game, I would love to see it again (I tend to miss things because I'm concentrating on keeping the drumbeat going).

Are you folks ready for some match photos?

The loyalist section sounded great from the field although I think we need to turn it up a notch cos there is competition throughout RES...

Kudos to the Loyalists. a quote for you;

On tonight’s win
“It was awesome, unbelievable crowd once again, the Los Angeles Galaxy’s goal kind of set us back again, but teams never say die. We had something to prove, especially after the Chivas game. We got the two goals and it was beautiful.”
145 pics and if I was shooting digital would have had a ton more. I had to keep changing rolls and missed alot.

The monopod really worked well for stabilizing the camera and the 1600asa film worked well too.

Some of my favorites

Jason right before his third yellow

Cleetus on the job after the yellow

Scoreboard

A Mohawk and Jake

Jason Kreis and Rusty Pierce squaring up for an RSL corner

This one, and this one, pretty much some up Donovan's contribution for the night! Great Defence RSL!!!

This one and this one for the closet Cobi Jones fans(and they know who they are)

Oh and just a reminder in case you forgot!

See the whole lot here
