Checketts is going to be on Sportsbeat tonight on Channel 5.

This should be good, I'm interested to hear what he might have to say about the big crowds, the upcomming double-header, the stadium, etc.

Not too much was said that we don't already know. They talked actually alot of basketball and Checketts said he really wants to own a NBA team as soon as possible. His first choice would be the Knicks.

He did say he is pushing really hard to have the stadium ready for 2007. He said to do that though they will have to start construction by the end of this year. He said he wants to have something finalized by the end of summer. He didn't give any hints though as to what area they are looking at mostly.

Other than that, not too much to report.

Kirkland is the worst, THE WORST interviewer in SLC. Man that was tough to sit through and watch.

Jay Nolly was on after Uncle Dave.

Nothing noteworthy, but Jay did have the funny quote of "It's always good to see the boss smiling."

Am I the only one worried about Dave wanting to buy baseball & basketball teams?

RSL costs less to run than the average NBA player's jewelry collection. But what would happen if Dave decides to cut costs to afford a team?

Would he give RSL to Chris & Stacy and let them run it?

I was also a little concerned. When asked what his timeline is for owning an NBA team, he said "Soon. Very soon."

Not really sure what the financial implications would be, but you can bet that he'd be spending 99% of his time on the NBA team...

I'm not that worried about him owning an NBA team. With the FO in place, RSL will be just fine. It can't be any worse than Hunt or AEG ownership, can it?

If he bought the Knicks, there would be no conflicting interests. The two sports play opposite months of the calendar (mostly) and attract a different type of fan. Not to mention, they are on opposite ends of the country. I trust Dave.
