Some Attendance Firgures...

Some random Salt Lake Area attendance figures from Saturday night...

Night of the Heavies at the Delta Center (Boxing)--2,500

Stingers at FRanklin-Covey Field (Baseball)--8,099

Real Salt Lake at RES (Soccer)--18,621

Good thing that soccer doesn't have the mustard to make it in Salt Lake as all the pundits predicted when the team was announced... 😲

Just for the record... we are averaging 20,054 at home!

You know, as I was driving home last night and went through downtown I would see people that were walking around or going into clubs, people that were obviously not at the RSL game. And I would wonder why in the hell were they not at the game.

Anyone that was in that crowd last night would be addicted to soccer by now. How could you not be? And did everyone pick up on how after we scored our two goals the crowd, not just us, but like the whole crowd were singing the Ole Ole Ole Ole song.

And towards the end of the game when we came close two or three times to scoring a thrid goal, you could hear the crowd let out a huge collective groan. That sounded to me just like a game in Europe when I heard that.

Simply fantastic.

Those collective groans were the best! They were very noticeable and coordinated. We DO have great fans here!

20,000 odd average? That's really cool. The general perception here in England is that Americans don't really care about 'Soccer'. But crowds like that should show a few people. And the pictures i've seen of the fans look great to.
