While I agree that there really hasn't been much to dislike, there really hasn't been all that much to like either. He seems to be pretty invisible on the field. He doesn't do much to get noticed, good or bad.

Although I didn't see the Chivas game on Wednesday, O'Brien has made some seriously critical mistakes in games. I'll point out that he has won the award for worse corner kick of the year, where he hit the outbounds side of the goal netting. He has at least 2 more horrible corner kicks since then.
Also when he comes into matches (possibly excluding the May 18th match) he has added nothing to the game, often getting beat by most other players in getting to the ball.
Ellinger might think he is the best pure finisher on the team, but he rarely gets the ball to finish it.

Anyone stick around for reserve matches who is able to tell us how he performs in those? He HAS played pretty crapily, from what I've seen, but he's also never consistently played huge minutes in a game. It just seems that he never gets any touches, for whatever reason.

We’re basing our observations on the course of the season, not just one match…

Formation change?

[QUOTE=Rover
If Washington gets his second wind, he can be a force for us up front. He's big and strong and will draw the central/leading defenders from other teams. That will open up Kreis even more, and allow him to do what he does best--play off defenders, sprint to the goal, and, of course, score. Since Washington can put it in the net too, RSL now has an intimidating front two.

So you're making the assumption that Kreis and Washington will be on the field at the same time. Which also must then include the assumption that Ellinger changes the formation from 1-5-4 to 2-4-4?

I think you meant a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2.
I don't think Dante starts. Ellinger seems to like the 4-5-1 and if he switches to a 4-4-2 then Mathis would start up with Kreis, not Dante.

That's what I said 😉 . I was just playing with my fantasy line-up and they have it the other way 1-5-4. Must have carried through into my post.

I agree, and that was the point of my reply to Rover. I don't think Kreis and Washington are on the field together. Ellinger likes the 4-5-1 - it hasn't been out of neccessity as there are other talented strikers that he could put up top with Kreis (Mathis being the first option as you pointed out)

Checketts and Pastorino said on the radio (they were on 1280 about half an hour ago), that Dante would rarely start, but would often be subbed in. Pastorino said that it's almost certain that he'll come in at about the 60th or 65th on Saturday.

I wonder who he will come in for. Certainly not Jason. Maybe Williams? He has been coming out around that time for the past few games.
