electronic cheerleaders and you

More proof that great minds think alike:

this thread mirrors a discussion I had with the FO recently.

Some of you have commented about the "electronic cheerleader" telling people when to make noise. It seems that Checketts loves it. It's an NBA thing.

Well, I think we have negociated the end of it. In it's place we're going to put up some of the lyrics for all the world to see. These will be done at foreordained moments of the game.

You job, should you accept it, is to give suggestions for which tunes and at what times during the game.

Unless you've got the world's greatest soccer chant that no one has ever heard and I will love, put it in a different thread.

What of our tunes do you think will work? (It may rotate game to game)

The Ole, Ole, Ole chant is my favorite and has my vote at least after each goal.

I'm hoping that everyone in the stadium already knows that one.

"Here we go" is pretty easy. It might even be too easy to put words up on a screen, but I think it would be a good one to get the whole crowd involved because everyone knows the tune.

I think for this one and a couple of others we probably just need to keep singing it for about 5 or 10 minutes, although the board wouldn't hurt.

If we're gonna bother with the board, we ought to atleast have a few words to put up there. If the board sits there showing "here we go", will people even realize that it's lyrics and not just some silly crap that the board is showing us at this unconnected moment in time - a la "Let's make some noise"?

I second the motion for "We're on our way." That one has some lyrics and therefore is board worthy.

What about "A rope. A tree." or "I'm blind, I'm deaf"? Just kidding.

Can we change the lyrics to Real Starts Scoring Goals. I hate to sing about that, it makes it sound like Real doesn't score goals, but we'd really like to see it. I don't have any suggestions unfortunately, but Starts needs to be changed to a different word. In San Jose they sang it, When the Quakes come marching in...and then...When the Quakes come Steaming in...

I don't know.

hmmmm...i seem to like the simple ones...like ole ole ole and the one that we just say REAL and then some people say Salt Lake. I also like the "dale" song that boca juniors fans sing. But I like it when the liverpool fans sing "you'll never walk alone" so maybe we could find a long one to sing too. This is exciting stuff!

We should probably limit it to the "positive" cheers and not include the taunting ones. Well... maybe not. I would love to see the whole crowd yelling, "How hiiiiiigh do you want the goal?" and "Off-sides Off-sides." I think it took me several Blitzz games to figure out what the RAF were saying when they did those.
