Like we have seen in Libertadores Cup action and in the UNAM Pumas - DCU CONCACAF Club Championship matches, some Mexican clubs are very good.
Some Mexican first division clubs, however, could not beat the Northern Nevada Wonders. Mexico's best goalkeeper over the last 35 years was beaten out of jobs by Kevin Hartman and Zack Thornton. So I'm not too sure what Vergara & Cue were thinking when they brought up a guy who was not able to find work with Puebla or Dorados.

😎 Simple, they still believe their own hype. They can't figure out what is wrong. Why are they losing, when they know they are simply better than anyone else, because they are the Mexican team. In their minds, anyone they get from Mexico has simply got to be way better than anyone here. They haven't figured out the flaw in that thinking, yet.

That game was awesome.
The commentators kept talking about how "Chivas is really going to get back into this match now, blah blah blah" and then Dallas would just go and score another goal, even though they had a big fat hole in their midfield where Mulrooney once lived. It's really amazing how utterly crap Chivas' defense is.

The thing is, if you put all the context (the expectations, the crap record) aside and just watch them play, they actually look pretty good moving the ball around in the midfield. And they score enough goals to get most teams by. Their defense, though, is mind-boggling. The thing is, I don't think anyone at that club has a clue as to what to do about it -- the players just always look kind of glazed-eyed, and Thomas Rongen just sits there with his mouth open, like, "WTF?" It's bizarre.

I keep hearing how great Chivas is at passing the ball around to each other, but almost every time I look at game stats they have very few shots on goal. What good does it do to maintain possession for the entire game if you don't get any good chances off of that? And then they aren't even finishing the shots they do get.
And their defense just plain sucks. They are definitely the worst team in the league and not just by a little bit. __________________

Don't take this the wrong way, but we need Chivas to get better. For one we don't want the team to die, literally. Thats bad for MLS. Also, if Chivas USA continues to suck, we will always of the stigma of losing to them.
That is all. | |||||

You mean it's 2005? Not 1985?
"You mean that US soccer players aren't amateurs, college students & converted indoor players?" OK, so Chivas' president Antonio Cue did not exactly say that in this article in Spanish. But he did admit that MLS was tougher than they thought. Cue promises that Goats 2.0 will get better. Rongen has a job for at least this week. Prime is right; it does no one any good to have MLS teams sell fewer tickets than Skyline football.
