RSL/Chicago May 28th Pre-Game talk

Ok so we have to get back into the winning style.
With Pope (USMNT) and Akwari (suspension) out, whats out new Line-Up?

My guess is a new 4-4-2
Kreis-Washington
Williams-Mathis
Brown-Fitzgerald
Pierce-Dunseth-Bechke-Rojas
Countess

Whadda think?

With 2 pieces parts missing from our back line I doubt we go with 2 forwards.

Kreis
Tiger--Mathis--Williams--Brown
Kamler
Rojas--Behncke--Dunseth--Pierce
D.J.

I thought I read somewhere that Ellinger wouldn't start Washington--he would come on as a 60th min. sub or something . . . correct me if I'm wrong.

I say we give Trembly a start in the back :D

Trembly would be good, but only out wide. We need a couple of taller guys who are good in the air in the middle to handle crosses and get their heads on them. Trembly would be totally dominated by a taller forward. I just don't see this happening.

I only mention 2 forwards because of the Dante Washington article today in the Trib. It made it sound like Ellinger wanted the 2 of them in there from the start. Which I agree seems to contradict what Ellinger said about Dante last week.

But without Akwari and Pope, we are not losing a 4 man back, thats for sure.

Looks like Chicago is going to be playing with an almost full squad. Their keeper is staying in Chicago for the US-England match, but none of the others were called up.

I saw that T&T is playing another friendly Wednesday against El Salvador. Does anyone know if our boys (Tiger & Marlon) are going back to the islands for that? I hope not! Tiger looked tired against Columbus, and another week of travel and a mid-week game is not what he needs!

Tiger and Marlon will be going for the friendly and then come back for Saturday before heading back for their qualifier.

Those two are going to have some tired legs.

Coach Ellinger today on 1280 said he would almost for sure stay with the 4-5-1 this week. Tiger will be tired, but a tired Tiger is still faster than your average midfielder!

We really need to rock the RES on Saturday; our turf advantage is gone, so let's bolster our crowd advantage.

Does anyone know what the ticket pre-sales are at now? With Memorial Day weekend, great weather, school getting out, etc. I'm afraid attendance might not be as great this time. But they sure did pick a great time to start the Junior Loyalists promotion! Free jerseys should get plenty of kids out. We'll just have to be extra loud and show the parents that it is OK to yell and have fun!

The Radio Shack at 47th South & 40th West (and presumably all of them around here) has coupons for a free hat with purchase of 2 tickets for this weekend's game.

You have to buy tickets in advance if you want the hat.
