Like I said in another thread, I hope to already be in Italy, so I'll just swing up to Germany and hit the USA games (and probably some Azzuri action too)... but who knows exactly how it will all work out! Anyway maybe I could meet up with whoever is going from here or something...

I could sure get into the idea. I’ve been hoping to get over to Spain to visit a friend anyway.

Hmmm, Two birds.. One stone... Maybe just take the whole summer... OK, now I am definitely dreaming!

But seriously, I am interested. Keep me posted. Thanks.

I have just heard back from 1 of the 3 travel companies offering packages for WC 2006
This is apparently the official travel company for USSF.
Here is what they sent me;

Apparently the packages include everything from airfare-hotel and ground transport, to and from hotels and airport/venues and match tickets!

Quote:

The date for the opening game is 9 June 2006 at the new Stadion München. Each team will play three matches in the group phase, with the best sixteen progressing to the second round. The final is scheduled for 9 July 2006 in Berlin's Olympiastadion.

In the meantime, please advise us which package your would be interested in:

1) Follow your Favorite Team - Team USA, Spain, France, etc. or any other team for the first round from 12 to 15 nights starting on or around Friday, June 9 until Saturday, June 24
2) Venue / City Packages: Berlin (North), Frankfurt (South), Munich (South) - Seven (7) night with three (3) games and fourteen (14) night with six (6) games packages from June 10 until June 24
3) German 2nd Round to Finals - Eleven (11) to fourteen (14) nights with six (6) games in total starting from Friday or Saturday, June 24 until Monday, July 10
4) Germany WC Finals Package - One week including one semifinal in Munich and the final in Berlin starting from Tuesday, July 4 until Monday, July 10
5) German Month Package - 30 nights with around 10 - 15 games in total starting on or around Friday, June 9 until Monday, July 10
6) Customized Package - Just indicate the amount of time and the venues/cities that you would like to visit and we build the package around your exact wants & needs

Be sure to let us know the number of person potentially travel along with the type of accommodations you desire, three star tourist economy, four star moderate superior or five star deluxe hotels
There is not a minimum number of people but obviously the more people the better deal they offer...

Let's see if they qualify first. [nervous laughter] ... [/nervous laughter]

Anyway, I'll already be in Europe most likely, I'd just have to swing up to Germany... so I don't know if I would want to purchase a travel package.
