I think I had a stroke from so much trumpet blowing and yelling. I can't even type this message as we speak. All I can say is that we gave it our ALLLLLL

Not quite sure that I understand that one. "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I want to be a ref" is a loyalist regular, and it appears as though we're trying real hard to shame the ref. Is this a serious criticism or just a random comment??

🙂

Name a sport where you don't shame the ref? Isn't that what home field advantage is about?

I guess we can chant this

It is ok that you made a bad call
It is Ok that we just lost the ball

You just made a mistake
and its you ref that we don't hate

So will you be my mate?

That will work great for home field advantage...lets try that one...

Not sure I understand who the loner is either.....If I am not mistaking we look back trying to figure out what you are chanting...and if no one is chanting and its quiet (hence home field advantage) We will start to sing something...

I am there to support my team.. I have a lot of fun doing that...supporting the team.. if the ref makes a bad call...I will support my team and remind the official..that call sucked...and have fun doing it....

There was actually one point in the game where we were doing a chant and you guys started another one while we were still going. That is what we are talking about with coordination.

Look to the drum section, usually. We may have to make better use of Aurelius and his megaphone. Hopefully he won't miss any more games.

It is all about the breathing. Take a solid breath before each phrase of the chant. Not a shallow chest breath but one that makes your stomach expand because your diaphragm is pulling your lungs waaay open.

When you yell, don't let all your air out at once but evenly through the whole cheer/chant phrase. The more air in your lungs that you can release while you yell/chant the better.

Drink a little water regularly throughout the match, a dry throat is a hoarse/less effective throat.

Anyhow, do I feel like an uber-choir geek or what!

PS - If all else fails, just remember to never yell on an empty lung. 🙂
