That's why Arena was pleased to see midfielder DaMarcus Beasley practice at full speed for the second straight day.
"I'm not 100 percent. I'll just try to keep pushing myself during the week, trying to gain more fitness," Beasley said. "I don't know what role Bruce is going to put me in, but hopefully I'll be good to play a good maybe 65-70 minutes."
The 23-year-old midfielder is arguably the fastest player on the U.S. squad, and his presence on the field always helps bolster the attack.

They practiced behind closed doors today, but the BYU employees told us we could stand along the West fence because that was city property, not BYU property. At least fifty fans watched through the fence, but it was hard to tell what was going on in practice.

The players were more than willing to sign autographs for everyone after practice as they left, though.

I wanted to make it today, but I was just feeling too responsible to try to get a babysitter for my Stoccing habit. I'm sad about missing autographs, but hey, at least I got in to see them up close and personal on Tuesday. It was a weird feeing to have a ball fly about six inches from my head and know that everybody on the USMNT was staring at me as it happened.

"Hi! Don't be scared!" (That's for you, Craig.)
