Job Oportunity! Okay, this thread may not be appropriate for this forum and if not, please delete it. But I figured that some of you might have foreign language skills and might be looking for part time work. My company is looking for people that can speak and read:
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, French, Swedish, Korean, and Chinese. If you speak one of these languages, please PM me and I can tell you more about the job. It's part time work and starts at $9.00 an hour. If you are fluent in a language not mentioned above, we may have a place for you too.

Ouch, only $9/hour for people with bilingual skills!?! Is the Utah economy that bad? High school dropouts work at Taco Bell for more money where I live.

Where is it that you live again? I might have to consider moving there... maybe once I finish my master's degree, I can break the double digits. 🙄

I don't mean to be a jerk about this, but if a company thinks that they will be doing themselves a favor hiring a marginally biligual person at $9/hour (and I would guess no benefits) they are in for a big shock. A true language pro can do 5 times the work volume at 3 times the quality for twice the money. Chances are one who is working for $9 doesn't really have the requisite language skills or training to be using their language professionally. The good thing is that it looks like they aren't looking for writing skills. Our company uses a living wage standard, which for our local economy (Wisconsin) works out to about $15.75/hour. That is what our lowest paid clerical person is paid. People with Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees and professional skills obviously make more than that. But, our professionals have a workrate that would put others to shame. What are you doing your master's in?

Yeah, wages are really that low in Utah. We're mainly looking for students and returned missionaries. There are some incentives that can increase your pay permenantly each month. No, there aren't any benefits. But it is a great company and the work isn't that hard. Besides, you're not going to get all greasy looking at websites all day and you don't have to deal with customers.

Hey, I'll jump on the bandwagon here.
My husband is considering leaving his full-time job to be a full-time student for about 15 months. He's looking for a job that will allow him to work 25-30 hours a week and pay a reasonable salary.... $25-$30/hour with benefits. He currently works in a new technologies division at a Fortune 100 company and has contibuted to about 20 patent applications in the last year. He has great programming skillzz and a lot of project management experience at the aforementioned large company. He's looking for a job doing technical work--programming, technical analyst stuff, computer architecture or something along those lines. If any of you technical gurus know of any possibilities at your company, PM or email me!
