Recruitment Opportunity

Ok, I have an assignment for you all. As you may remember, I can’t go to the game tomorrow because my brother is graduating, so we had to give our tickets away. The people we gave the tickets to are extremely excited for the game. They’ve been told the “rules”; they’re all going to wear red, they borrowed my mom’s scarf and they might even have face paint on. Plus they said they’re going to bring a drum, it’s one of those big African drums and should contribute a nice sound to the drumming section.

Ok, my assignment for you all is to be nice to them and welcome them to the section. They are potential Loyalists and if they like tomorrow they may join us again.

As long as they don't mind me waving my flag in their face, they should be just fine. 🙂

They're probably going to be by the drums so I don't think they'll be in your way 😉

👍

Tell them to come early and meet us at the Tailgate site. I don't know if we're tailgating, but we'll probably be there, even if we don't. They sound like they're up for some fun and noise (bringing a drum is a bit of a giveaway), so there shouldn't be any problem. As long as they don't plant themselves in their seats and yell, "Are you going to stand up for the WHOLE game". 😉

Ok, on this topic. Are people seriously too lazy to stand for 45 minutes, take a break and then stand for another 45 minutes? It’s really not that hard. 🙄

Standing isn't hard, but as I learned... you need to get your voice in match shape... mine was gone by the 30th minute of the USMNT game... then half time rivived it and it was gone again by the 80th. I need to sit in the stands more...

You may think my job is plush (it does have some advantages) but it is tons more fun to be in the Loyalist section.

I wasn't sitting in the Loyalist section for the WCQ, but I was standing most the game. The people about 3 rows behind me started yelling that they couldn't see the match. I pretended that I didn't hear them. :D

Since I can't go to the game this evening, my sister and her husband (or my brother if her husband can't go either) will be using my tickets. I told her to sit in E32, and to stand and cheer, she may even be bringing my flags along with her. Show her a good time, and maybe we can get her hooked. Wish I could be there to do it myself.

They did come by (at least I'm assuming that was them) and they did a pretty good job cheering. They had some really cool drums too. They almost looked too cool to be pounding on. Tell them to come back anytime.
