First a goal - then a stadium

Not exactly the most positive article today...

Is right on the money. The idea of a team setting a goal at the start of the season to stay mid-table is laughable to most Americans, but makes perfect sense to people from many other countries.

neither of those articles are the most positive. one thing they are, however, is the honest truth that most people are facing right now. 421 minutes is......a long damn time. i hate to say it, but 7 hours of soccer with no goals is a little much to handle even for me and i have played this game for 14 of the 20 years i have been a live. your average fan is getting a little edgy right now, going through withdrawl if you will. the UC game was sort of a little "fix" for the people, but even that game was a stretch and the stars people want to see rifling shots into the back of the net were giving one of the poorest efforts on a soccer field i have ever seen.

the good news is this is soccer. goals will come eventually and hopefully at a little higher of a rate. we havent scored 3 goals in a game yet (minus the UC game). it would be good if the guys read these articles (uhh poster board material coach E?) and used them for motivation. anything to get these guys playing like they atleast want to be on the field.

so for this weekend, bench mathis. he said himself, if hes not playing up to par and someone else is like watson then dont start him. start the hot hand, score some goals and shut these moron journalists up. lord knows how much influence they have on the people with their mindless (but honest and somewhat true) ramblings.

He said that knowing it won't happen. Bench Cletus? Give me abreak! It won't happen! Coach E would be in more danger of losing his job benching Cletus than losing to LA...

Looks like the papers are both coming down hard on RSL (team and players) today. Rock and Monson never do hold anything back when attacking someone do they?

I dont think as many people like Mathis as you think. If he would just quit yelling at the ref all game, stop walking and actually play he is one of the best american soccer players. We are all still waiting for that player to come out, maybe a benching would be a good thing for him, maybe a wake up call.

So are Utah fans always so fair weathered? Or just for soccer?

Clint Mathis is one of America's best.

He is in a slump that does not mean he is going to stay there.
I like clint on the field. Every match I have seen him in he has worked his tail off. He works hard away from the ball, of course he needs to work hard with the ball too...

Part of his job is to get on the refs... sure he does that job very well...

I think that the frustration with RSL is very evident but I seriously doubt that Clint is the key to the issue.

It is a team.... not the Cleetus Show!
