Still a little confused...sorry

Okay so what's the big deal about 'rep' stuff? Serious. Do you win a million dollars, or a dinner for two, maybe a new house? I don't get it. I guess I probably never will.

Oh, and thank you to the ones that gave me points, or whatever you call it. πŸ™‚

Rep, in my opinion, is a way to determine how useful or entertaining ones posts are. Essentially, if you have a lot of rep (green boxes), people typically enjoy what you have to say - either in an entertaining or informative way. Rep is considered more serious for some on this forum and less serious by others. Some like to use it as a gauge of the worth of the posts of posters, while others just like to play around with it by handing out rep whenever and for whatever - more as a game or form of entertainment. Anyway, that's my take on it.

Rep is like Aerick said, supposed to help you understand if you are reading the words of an idiot or not. However on this board it has gone extremely awry. You don't get rep for saying interesting things anymore or doing worthwhile things, you get rep for starting a thread about rep and asking people to give you rep on that thread, not for doing worthwhile things, but just for asking for rep. I've lost all faith in rep.

And I've converted to Buddhism too.

What I have yet to see is anyone getting lots of negative rep. (On Big Soccer you see a few posters with red box(es) and things like "needs to improve" and "knocked by other members") Guess we all get along here.

You know, I was BEGGING for negative rep, and I got very few people to take me up on it. I went from 121 down to 118 then to 131. πŸ˜•

Maybe people are starting to tire of the repping game and aren't in the mood to play along with you. I think the only way you're going to acheive your goals is to be a genuine jerk.

I suggest personal attacks, you ****head.

No need to be confused Bardguy. Let's just face it you are one heck of a poster. Your posts have thought, insight, and are at a different leve than the rest.

That is why we give rep right? For insight. When you said that you went to Brighton that had a lot of insight.

Keep it up.

I went to Hillcrest...rep me

Yeah, you get negative rep. Supposed to go to Brighton, transferred to Skyline, transfered to Hillcrest...
