CRapids v. Galaxy [R]

Unbelievable.

The CRapids just beat the Galaxy 1-0 in Denver despite playing most of the game a man down and the last 30 minutes two men down.

Why couldn't LA be this bad against us!

I saw the game on DK and it was pathetic.

The really bad news is that our losing streak has caught up with us. With this win, the CRapids are now tied with us with 11 points, although we have a game in hand. Of course, they get cheetos this weekend.

We better start winning games or we'll watch the playoffs slipping away. The bottom two were going to win some along the way. Time to get it done or be on the outside looking in.

I actually didn't think LA did that bad. It seemed like one of those games where you shoot and shoot and it never hits the back of the net.

It still doesn't change how depressed I am about this win.

If I'm coaching a team and we have a man advantage for 72 MINUTES (30 of those with a two man advantage) and can't score, no one leaves the locker room until the deck towl races are over. You former military guys know what I'm talking about.

I have to give the CRapids some credit--something very painful for me to do. Mike Petke in particular showed outstanding leadership in holding their defense together.

But c'mon, LA! Eleven against nine for a half hour and no goals?

I can't believe how many chances LA had to put it in the net! Combine that with the number of chances they had against RSL...1 goal, with how many great opportunities??? Weak. I wish they could have put a couple of those in. Now we're tied with the C'Rapids! 🙁

I watched most of the second half. I was torn between wanting LA to tie the score so Colorado wouldn't pass us in the standings and seeing a team near the bottom upset of the favorites. (Technically, even though we have a game in hand, with Colorado having a better goal differential, they are now ahead of us in the table.)

Couldn't believe LA couldn't finish, especially when down to 9 men. The sequence with about 10 minutes left was amazing. Even my wife (who isn't really a sports fan at all) was astonished at that point in the match.

😲

Some of the Big Soccer postings are amusing right now. LA Galaxy fans are not happy campers this morning.

Just a random thought from last night, did anyone else have any flashbacks when Herculez Gomez came out on the field? :p

Yeah, Colorado were down to 9 for most of the second half! It was absolutely unbelievable to watch LA just shoot and shoot and shoot, and never get the ball in the net.

Colorado still shouldn't have won, that PK call was weeeeaak.

Very entertaining for a 1-0 match!
