NBA Finals [R]

Just in case anyone cares: Detroit tied up the series tonight at 3 games a piece by winning on the road in San Antonio. It's the first time they've won in San Antonio since April 1997. My prediction about San Antonio in 6 was wrong. I still think San Antonio will win game 7. You've got to love Detroit's heart, however.

I DO love Detroits heart - they're my pick. And game 7!! First time in 11 years for the finals.

11 years would make that 1994. For some reason I thought that the Jazz and Bulls went 7 games in 1996. If Detroit wins I'll be happy, if San Antonio wins I'll be happy. There is more to love about each team than to hate. Now, if the Lakers, Mavericks, or Kings were in the finals, I'd have to root hard for whoever they were playing. I can't stand the Lakers, Mavericks, or Kings. There's not really any team in the east that I don't like. I guess we don't play the Eastern Conference enough for me to loathe any of them. I was a Celtics fan before the Jazz moved to SLC, so that's another reason I hate L.A.

Unfortunately, both Jazz-Bulls series (in 97 and 98) were decided in just 6 games.

🙁

The last two have been very exciting games. A couple thoughts:

1. Everyone gives all the props to Horry for the 3-pointer, and deservedly so (talking about game 5 here)... But remember Detroit still could have won the game with a bucket, so I give some props to Parker for his EXCELLENT defense on Rip Hamilton in the closing seconds.

B. What a meltdown by SA yesterday, and what a step-up by Billups and R. Wallace! Tim Malone (oops I mean Duncan) can't hit big free throws, Parker disappeared, and Ginobili turned the ball over like it was going out of style.

I want SA to win because Ginobili is a stud.
