When me and my friend went, no one was there but Watson, and we figured we might have to leave before everyone else got there, so we went to Jamie first. My friend complimented him on the game, and he pointed to Ellinger, and said "don't tell me, tell that guy I need to start." As the rest of the players got there and we went back through the line, my friend said "you really need to start Jamie" and all of the players, (akwari, trembley, countess) and ellinger looked over at him. He smiled and said "I don't know what's going on with these kids, but they all love me!"

That might have been some of the reaction when you told ellinger that Jamie needed to start

I wish I could have met Williams, I had to leave early, and apparently missed most of the party

I am wondering how much crap Jamie gets at practice today because of that?

Some people noticed a little bad blood between Jamie and some of the other players on the field? I didn't notice it but it's possible that others are a little jealous of the attention he gets.

I would say it's because of Jamie's Journal, but frankly it's because he's a sincerely nice nice nice person. When I asked if he got my MOTM email, he asked if I'd received his reply and when I said I hadn't, he spent like two minutes apologizing for it. I said, "Jamie, it's not like I'm gonna be all mad at you about it!!" He kept saying, I don't know why you didn't get it...I'll resend it, I promise.. etc.

I mean, that is the opposite of egotistical. He is just incredibly polite and people-centered. He always leaves me with the feeling that I matter. Most professional athletes leave you with the feeling that you are nothing compared to their greatness. I've never gotten that from our team or even any of the national team. When they were in Provo, everyone said they were all very approachable after practice (including Landon...)

It probably has more to do with his mouth. From what he understand, he talks more than a middle school girl.

As if I hadn't said enough, I'll elaborate:

When I was in junior high and high school, people were extra competitive with me because I got the best grades in the class. It's not like I was bragging or showing off, but that kind of thing kind of gets around. People would say, "hey what score did you get?" etc. until I built up a reputation. Then when they would get a better score than me, they'd totally slam me and make me feel like crap.

I bet it's like that for Jamie. He gets a lot of positive attention, but then he has to deal with the inherent competitiveness and then negative attention because of it. I'm sure it keeps him humble. 😉

I agree, Jamie did seem really humble and he does seem like a really great guy. I feel bad that he has to deal with crap just because we all love him though.

the first time I wrote Jamie, I got an answer next day. a week ago before Galaxy's match I wrote 2 him and I just got the replay... with 2 or 3 sentences apologizing for the delay...
I think he is cool, hopefully he’ll stay humble, cause he is a REAL great guy!

BY the way, the boys are the cutest thing ever, Jamie wanted a copy?
I gladly help him getting a copy of the boys... :signnvm:
:signoops:
