Sure DJ has made a few mistakes, but overall his play has been outstanding. Best of all he busts his butt and you never have to wonder if he wants to win a match.

MOTM June 26, 2005 - Chicago
Sunday found Real Salt Lake battling Chicago for the second time this season, and despite a disappointing loss, fans came out of it feeling okay. “Hey, we at least got to see an RSL goal,” said Juliana Montgomery. “We don’t take that for granted anymore! The team was playing a lot harder than it was a month ago so it’s a little easier to swallow defeat. We just hate seeing them lose when they’re not even trying.” Despite letting three goals slip by, fans had no complaints about Salt Lake ‘keeper, DJ Countess and voted him the Man of the Match. Countess once again impressed fans by continuing to give effort after he was hurt. Roger Douglass voted, “DJ Countess for ‘taking one for the team.’ Ouch!” Eric Wright said, “DJ Countess! Need I say why?” Jason Kreis, who scored RSL’s lone goal, was also nominated for the honor. Congratulations to DJ for earning the MOTM honors once again! | |||||
