Rocky Mtn Derby?

This has been discussed on BS.

Basically, do RSL fans feel that they can support a "derby" between RSL and the Colorado Crap...I mean Rapids? Its my personal opinion that Colorado will become Salt Lake's natural rival in MLS.

If we do this, RSL fans (Loyalists etc) and Rapid fans (if they have any official ones) would give the winning team a trophy.

What do you guys think?

I've always hated Colorado, so it won't be a stretch for me at all...

Count me in for any rivalry against the Crapids. Of course we will win it every year so we could just keep the trophy!

So do we have to foot the entire bill for the trophy? I guess that's only fitting since we'll be keeping it! :D Maybe we can split the cost w/ an official CO supporter's group.

The plan is to split the cost of the tropy/derby with "A" Rapids supporters club, but I have not yet found one. Any ideas?

Dude you beat me to the punch on the Rapids Supporters forum on that other website. I was going to say though: I believe the Rapids fans are attempting to form a formal supporters club (it took long enough (we had one going before we even knew we had a team! (Loyalists forever))) ANYHOO hopefully they will be ready before the season starts so we can get this hate-fest started!

My friend Ben on the BS Rapids boreds 🙂 is working on trying to get the Rapids fans together. Problem is that apparently the Rapids have no fans. HA!!!

I always told people in conversation that Salt Lake will never get an a pro football (NFL) team because then the people in Denver would want one.

I suppose now that we have an MLS team the same will hold true!

The Galaxina and Smurfquakes are next on my hate list but the crapids are always first because they are, as the name implies, crap...

Sure, but if they're ever really, really good we'll just hate them even more! We hate them because we CAN. :D

I've been in conversations with some Rapids fan leaders about getting the ball rolling on this. I'll start a thread in the Loyalists forum when I know more, because I think this derby/cup will be affiliated with the Loyalists instead of with the team itself. Loyal1 and Montgjules would you like to help me with this endeavor?
