Also, Snarf and his wife took the "Founders" picture that shows the first Pre-Loyalist meeting at Fridays (or something).

This is true... thanks to Snarf we have an MLS team... they found out he was moving and knew that a team must follow him. And they liked us enough to not force the Smurfquakes on us... instead we got REAL!

Not everyone was from RAF, but I know a lot were. I for one was not a member of the RAF... most of my Blitzz days were spent working as stadium announcer.

Wahoo I have 3 rep squares... I was hoping to not to roll over to 400 posts in the 2 square category.

BTW The Smurfquakes must have been missing Snarf terribly, because they are moving to Houston now in protest. 😉

Granted, I have only been to a handful of home matches, but I have seen the televised games and Deuce's picts from all home games (which always seem to include Loyalists shots), and I think "hundreds" in attendence is overstating it a little. At the Real game after the WCQ, for example, there were in the neighborrhood of 40-50 people in the Loyalists section, and I know that at least a dozen were not Loyalists (because I told them to come over to that section for the second match). Are there really more than 4 times as many Loyalists in that section for the other home games?

Supporters clubs of hundreds of members pull off stunts like this one:

For an expansion team RSL does have great support, and I would definatelty put RSL supporters clubs in the top third of all MLS teams in the country (a very impressive feat for an expansion team!), but I honestly don't think that there are hundreds in attendance at matches. All the things I have seen would indicate the number is more like in the 50s.

I am not sure how many attend the game, but I am sure JasonCox can attest that several hundred appear at the tailgate! 😉

During the Blitzz years, the RAF (Radical Attitude Fans) usually had from 5-10 hardcore fans and a few stragglers at most matches. We had a single tattered banner to hold up during goals. Tailgates usually happened once a year (final match of the season) and generally consisted of a small table top grill and a couple of bottles of smuggled English brew.

Another advantage is that this board has much better moderators than the Blitzz board.

For as much fun as we are having now, you can't help but looking back with nostalgia at "Shut up, you stupid Brit", visiting coaches trashing our sound system, "Please don't make us spend extra time in Provo" and "I've been thrown off much better pitches than this."

I'm going to wear my Jiffy Lube 2000 red jersey to the Pioneer Day Eve game.

I guess I was wondering about rabble-rabbles comment that:

But if there are a hundred (or more?) dues paying Loyalists, that is something to be proud of.

He may have been wrong, although I haven't paid close attention at the games. Shrug. Whatever.

I don't know the current number of Loyalists. It keeps growing weekly. It's definitely more than 100.
