😉 Record number of votes cast for All-Stars The Article:

It is nice that Eddie Pope got the most votes of any defender, but what happened to D.J. I thought he would have got the Goal Keeper slot. After all, he's more used to saving goals than pretty much anyone else. Practice makes perfect, you know. __________________

Waldo was pretty harsh on last week's Soccer Saturday broadcast when they showed the top vote-getters at each position.
He said that Pope Eddie the 23rd and Stupid Frankie Hejduk both didn't deserve to be All-Stars because their teams suck, more or less.

According Marc Connelly, they should just throw out all fan votes.
You ask why? Because he said internet polls are frauds. His case in point? RSL fans being voted best in MLS... 😕

And I don't see him mention anything at all about the "best fans" vote. He is talking about the All-Star votes which we haven't stuffed. At least any more than we are allowed to. It's not our fault that they allow 10 votes per person per day and that we have fans actually willing to do that. If they didn't like it, they shouldn't allow it. We didn't cheat on this one. Quote:

Send him a reply, explaining that in this case it is NOT a fraud. A fraud is a fake, not what it purports to be. This is exactly as they set it up. This method of running the vote, weights the most interested fans. If you're willing to spend the time to vote 10 times, and if you're willing to do that several times, then your vote counts for more. That's the way they set it up, so you have to assume that's what they wanted! So they can't complain if it works out just that way! And they can't complain that it's a fraud! __________________ 🙁 Is it gametime yet? 😉 Last edited by Jim Umber : 07-13-2005 at 01:12 PM.

Hey, at least we show up, damn it. For being one of two "bottom feeders", our team sure is talked about a lot at MLS.
Be proud. As for Connelly, well he can just you-know-what. One of these years he'll attend an RSL game and then spend the rest of his life talking about the experience.

The guy is based in the northeast and has that typical east coast bias. I've lost patience with him--I don't bother to read his articles now. __________________
