Hacked: Chicago Fire Supporters Website

Section 8 website a Chicago Fire Supporters Club website was defaced today by hackers.
Section 8 Website

The Hacked Section 8 Website (if this link does not work it means they fixed it)

IMHO This may seem funny but I think it is really stupid!
It is good for a few laughs by a couple of morons... This is tantamount to vandalism and I hope they catch the hackers and make it very public.

I meant the hackers were morons...
I actually thought it was funny at first, but then I stopped to think about it and the more I thought about it the more I thought it was stupid, and went to far!

It is not like hanging a Ute flag on the cougar at BYU tho, it is defacing someone's hard work... but then I suppose if they had back ups it is easy enough to fix. Maybe they don't have backups since the fix is taking so long!

Dunno... maybe I over reacted... It just seems senseless... albeit somewhat clever...

I know I would be livid if some crapids fans did that to our site!

Harmless hooliganism. I do hope they can fix it easily enough, but the bigger soccer gets, the more we'll see stuff like this... it's great to have bitter rivalries and this will make the Dal-Chi rivalry that much more bitter!

Well, they shouldn't have completely defaced the site. They should have done something clever like put "FC Dallas is #1" in small text in the bottom corner of the site, and seen how long it went unnoticed.

But that would require actually changing their webpage. In reality, all they did was substitute another (and very simple(read stupid) page). I agree though, that would have been a more inventive way to go about it.

However, I don't like the whole idea of hacking websites. I hope they get caught and prosecuted...without publicity.

According to the web master of the section 8 site the substitute page was actually added after the entire site was defaced by an apparent different hacker.
The FC Dallas hacked(substitute) page was added by an apparent fc dallas fan after the security was breached and the page was left unprotected.
So the page most people saw was done by someone else who was obviously not clever enough to do the whole thing himself and stole cred from the real hacker.

He was like a looter... an opportunist!

oh well such is life!
I don't like the idea of hacking either... to me it is like breaking and entering!
