A Unique Opportunity

As many of you already know, the fans of Real Salt Lake were named as the best fans in the history of Major League Soccer in a recent MLSnet poll as part of the ongoing celebration of the tenth season of MLS. Now the appellation can certainly be debated, at least for now, but what no one can dispute is the unique opportunity we have over the next couple of weeks to show the rest of the league how good the fans are here in Utah in two national televison games sandwiched around the MLS All Star Game vs. Fulham.

This weekend’s FC Dallas game on FSC is a fireworks game so we should have a large crowd further cementing our number two ranking in MLS for average attendance. Granted, the viewing audience for FSC is not that large because it is not yet on basic cable or satellite packages, but soccer fans around the country will get a chance to see a stadium awash in red, standing and cheering our lads on the turf.

The Chivas game is an even better opportunity to show the ESPN audience that Utah will come out for MLS games and not just for the national team. A nice win in the supporters challenge will be a nice addition to the MLSnet title of greatest fans in league history.

I’m calling out the Loyalists, RCB, section 37 and every other RSL supporter to show up, wear red, and be loud.

And sell the discounted tickets! I've already sold 12, and am working on more. We HAVE to sell all of them - we have no excuse not too!!

Do we know what section they are in? I want to send information out to several people and want to include a map. I know it's the $25 section, but not exactly sure which one.

I have a kinda snarky question to ask: Who in the FO thought it would be a good idea to have a game at 4pm on August 6th? Or is there something else going on I don't know about?

Actually, we can blame it on ESPN.

I hope that this isn't too unique. Let's keep up the image of RES rocking.

One of my favorite backup keepers knows a few people with shreaders. A few bags of confetti are being produced around the area.

Do you have a shreader? Plastic bags? You're not just going to put that stuff in the garbage are you?

If you leary of totting it into the stadium bring it to the tailgate and it'll find its way in.

We've been saving a box of punch waste (confetti from the copy machine's three-hole punch) for a special occasion *cough*practicaljoke*cough*, but we might be persuaded to part with it if it could be of use. Let me know.
