What the H-E double hocky sticks!

Anyone see the LA Galaxy And United game over the weekend?

I was watching it with three people, and my wife leaned over and said, "Wow they don;t have anyone there!" Just as she said that they did some shot way back and you could see the stadium. IT WAS EMPTY. There were people on the sidelines and a few in the endzone.

so here is the weird part. I looked up the attendance this morning, and it sas SELLOUT 27,000! THERE IS NO WAY IN HECK!

Can anyone tell me what is going on? Is this some consiracy to make them look best?? I don;t understand!

The announcers said that most people were in line for concessions or hanging over the rail where there was shade trying to escape 113 heat. They must have huge concourses.

i am not exaggerating. There is NO WAY they were in the concourses. I would say there were about 6-7 thousand tops.

I am just repeating what Waldo was saying. The concourse remark was supposed to be funny.

rumor has it that in order to get tickets for the Real Madrid game, you also had to purchase a ticket for this game. Hence, there were 27k+ tickets sold for this game, which is the number that most pro sports teams will use as an attendance figure.

I was wondering how they got the 27,000 paid. That was the worst attended Galaxy game I have seen broadcast from the HDC.

Pretty much most teams in any sport report attendance as the number of tickets sold, not necessarily the number of people actually with their butts in the seats.

I remember Utah pointy ball games (before the Urban years) with announced attendance of 30000+ when there weren't 20000 there and have seen 'sold-out' Jazz games with 1000s of supposed fans disguised as green chairs.

People who have been to Victoria Street more than I have, like Rover & Loyal1, can confirm this.

But lots of Galaxy fans are at the concession stands, in the luxury boxes, in the restaurants, etc.
