TV Coverage etc.

In this thread post any info about RSL TV coverage. I believe we have some guys on the inside of this, feel free to help out the rest of us!

from the article about playing the Metros at realsaltlake.com:
Quote:
said Real Salt Lake General Manager Steve Pastorino, who added that local broadcast information for this and several other Real Salt Lake games will be announced in January
I take this to mean there will be only "several" RSL games televised. Hopefully that means mostly away games (except when they're on ESPN2?), and maybe one or two home games. Anyone have any more info?

I know nothing about tv coverage.

I did hear a RSL commercial on the radio for the first time today though. It came on X-96 at about 3:45 pm.

I was just flipping through the channels and thought I heard the name DC United. It took a second for my mind to comprehend what I had heard. I quickly flipped it back to hear them mention Freddy Adu and then talk about season ticket packages. They gave the realsaltlake.com website and a telephone number 1-866-9SOCCER.

Its getting close people!

Tape delayed Blitzz games were sometimes shown on Univision or Telemundo.

So I have to imagine that with RSL's greater financial resources & Dave Checketts' connections (What's College Sports Network going to show during the summer? University of Miami football players flunking their summer school classes?), we'll have a good selection of RSL games on TV.

David Kifuri, Jose Libardo Rivera & Fito Ovalle for the Spanish language team!

Ray Hudson, Tom Barbieri & John Parkin for the English language team!

(OK, so Tom Barbieri knows nothing about soccer. That never stopped Ty Keough. And we have 3 months to train him.)

I would put my $$$ on English Radio going to 1280. I really don't know much about what is going on with the TV end of things though. I would love to see it end up on 4, but knowing management, I doubt that will happen. so that being said I would bet that 1280 bed buddies, 2 end up with TV and KJZZ has an outside chance (ESPN regional affiliate).

At the Jason Kreis announcement, I saw him and he said he wasn't sure he was "sold" on the whole MLS in SLC thing. And he said he's never liked "organized" supporter's clubs. He liked the RAF becaue they weren't organized. He had a bad attitude.

Love 'im anyway.

👍

Yeah. John, if you're out there, we love you and want to hear from you. We're trying to get a bigger cheering section, and we'd love to have the benefit of your British viewpoint, and your wit. I, for one really miss the Forest Fan report, on matches (it was like reliving the match, only this time understanding what happened...always a plus.).
