That was a great game, despite the lackluster performance at times (see "Andy Williams shot on goal from midfield"). But how cool was that #5000? Or that #98? I also got a picture with Clint after the game whilst wearing my RSL Punk jersey with his number on it. I was thinking about pointing it out, but I wasn't sure what kind of a reaction I'd get. I'm sure he saw it as I walked away, but at least he didn't chase me down and demand to know what it meant. Phew. And to top everything off, I ran into Nessie after the game. Yeah, I know. First she sees fit to lift the north goal hex, then apparently anyone can see her. It WAS pretty awesome (and a little frightening) when, at the half, it became apparent that if we were going to win, we'd have to break the Curse. Again, I say :signwooho :punk:

You can thank me later. That was such a random coincidence -- my mom got off work late, so she came and picked my dad and I up from the game (which was a good thing because I don't think he could have dealt with the TRAX crowd). I have my rice pudding stashed in the fridge for later... mmmmm...

There's a banner? Seriously, why wasn't I told? No, apparently again it's just a random coincidence. There are a LOT of people, though, with either the Mathis mohawk or a tendency to see him as a punk. And I mean "punk" in the best, take-no-prisoners, fight-the-man sense possible. While I'm bummed about the red card, at least the guy plays from his heart.
It seems like I need to talk to these RSL Punks about copyright infringement. Or maybe I should form the fifth RSL supporters group and get everyone wearing Dr. Martens and safety-pin earrings. "Mathis's Own RSL Punks" has a nice ring to it. :punk:

Hey guys. Back at the hotel after a great game, the first home game for the Rover family. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We all had a great time and what a game for our first in RES.
Today is also Mr. and Mrs. Rover's 22nd anniversary, so thanks to RSL for giving us such a fantastic anniversary gift. We stayed around after the game for photos with the players, all of whom were gracious and friendly. Special thanks to Clint Mathis for being there too despite his unscheduled departure from the game. Thanks again to everyone--it all made for a memorable day that we hope to repeat as soon as possible. __________________

Do I have to knit my own poncho, or can I get someone else who CAN knit to do it for me? And should I buy a cat, or can I rent one first?

MAN!!! I totally forgot about the pictures with the players promo. That really sucks. I would have put those pictures right next to the picture with Mr. Checketts.

You can borrow my stuffed Mr. Bigglesworth for now. And we're planning a Knitting Night during the Wednesday night game.

Well, if I can smuggle a couple of knitting needles and a ball of claret yarn past security, I'll be there. Little concerned about toting around a naked cat, but whatever. I survived my encounter with Super Cleetus, so....
