Streamers (and confetti) are a delicate situation. They do show positive support of the team, but with that come a couple of cons.

The first is that once they see streamers fans might decide "anythings goes", but then again, I would think there isn't much confusion about whether or not it's appropriate to throw an empty whiskey bottle.

Second is the problem that lots of streamers on the field tend to impede the flow of the game. I've seen attacks both for RSL and the visitors slowed because of the streamers in the last few weeks.

Of course as Sctn 37:20 stated, let's PLEASE never see RSL matches turn into a Jazz game. With playing jock rock and sound effects continuously during the entire game (even with the ball in play), I can't even watch the NBA at all anymore. (College hoops on the other hand remain entertaining at times.)

The worst thing of all this was that there were idiots who threw crap in the second go 'round even after Jamie Watson came running over, waving and shaking his head "NO!" and cleaned up the original crap thrown. This was Jamie Watson not some orange clad security guard!

If someone from the team you root for tells you not to do something like that would you do it again? I sure wouldn't, but then again, I wouldn't throw something like that in the first place.

I like streamers though. No, I love streamers. We'll see what happens.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Merrill again."
Agreed. It was just plain SAD that our own beloved JAMIE WATSON came over to clean it up. Anyone who threw that stuff should be ASHAMED, I can't believe that he had to clean it up, how horribly sad...

It sounds like I missed another electrifying dramatic game. Dang! Drama that doesn't involve me personally is ... you know, dramatic.

I like streamers, but don't adore them, so I'll be happy to contribute to the non-streamers committee. (just kidding) The confetti hasn't worked out, but I've noticed the confetti at the HDC looks awesome. They use bigger confetti, more like maybe an inch square. And if you use something shiny, it looks cooler because it attracts the light. Oh, and a confetti cannon would help. :P Confetti is a lot harder to clean up, so I wouldn't be surprised if the FO had to take a firm stand to either pay extra for cleanup or come down hard on those who threw it. We'll see what happens.

I found that ripping my program into strips, then into squares made for a great handful of confetti.

HDC's confetti I think is thrown from the second deck. You get much more bang for your buck when it has to fall so far to hit the ground. We'd never have problems with streamer rolls remaining if they were thrown from the second deck.
