Kreis Nets a Century In front of one of their smallest home crowds of the season, RSL seemed to come out with a defensive posture with Rusty Pierce playing attacking mid rather than his accustomed right back position. The move by Coach Ellinger seemed to backfire as once again RSL gave up an early goal. The culprit this week was Sasha Victorine who scored off the first of three assists by Josh Wolff in the 8th minute. The rest of the second half was rather uneventful with few chances by either side.
The second half was full of fireworks. KC doubled their lead in the 52nd minute as Scott Sealy scored off a feed from Davy Arnaud, and stretched it to 3 – 0 in the 56th minute as Klein scored on Wolff’s second assist. RSL showed signs of life in the 63rd minute as Jordan Cila scored his third goal of the season from a Rusty Pierce assist to bring the crowd back to life. The crowd erupted minutes later when in the 72nd minute Jason Kreis scored on a beautiful goal in the box to become the first MLS player to hit the century mark. Any joy the home crowd felt soon turned back to despair as Sasha Victorine put the game away in the 86th minute again from Wolff to close the scoring at 4-2. The end of the game was rather chippy with Jamie Watson receiving straight red during stoppage time. The crowd proved rather unruly with several cups and ice cubes making their way onto the field. __________________
