I considered doing something like that. Putting together a few videos that would teach several of our chants to the whole crowd, and they could play them at halftime or whatever. But then I noticed that they play those commercials and whatnot at every halftime, and I can't hear a thing they say, so what would be the point. Maybe we could get the front office to let some of us on the field at halftime or before the game to teach a chant using the mike like the guy uses to do those contests they do every halftime. Then again I can barely hear that guy either.

Even if you just have Bunny Ears, you should be able to catch a few UNAM Pumas games on Telefutura or Univision. (Or Azteca America when they travel).
Yesterday, Pumas' fans sang better than their players finished.

Unfortunately, that could sometimes be said of our favorite team, as well. π __________________

Here's my ideas on how to inform people of chants:
* Someone should take big huge "cue" cards with "Ole Ole", "We all cheer for - (name of first person/RSL)", "Gooooooo REAL!", etc. * "Chant of the Day" on the program. You could have lyrics and "to the tune of...." on the game day program and I'm sure some people would pick up on it, maybe even try it out on their own. We'd have to put our favorites/most popular and then see if the FO would try it out. * During half time put up a video called "RCB/Loyalist Chant of the Night" or "Chant of the Match" kind of thing. Show the lyrics with the bouncy ball and the E32/33 chanting it. Cool? Yep. (edit: It would be even more fabulous if these weren't "staged" chants but actual in-game chants. Maybe even showing what play inspired the chant. For example: Show Nolly making a great save and then show how the Supporters section responded. Or show random game play and a random chant ie: "We all cheer for Real Salt Lake") Here's my "chanting at soccer games" philosophy: * The people who chant are in a crowd of other, organized, chanters. Notice RCB... they are an organization. Notice the Loyalists... they are an organization as well. Samba Gringa, Jesters, Tories, etc.... * The people who chant know, or are next to people who know, the chant words. Unless you make RES get the accoustics of the Tabernacle, you are going to need visual cues. At least until everyone in the stadium who doesn't know the words/tune is next to someone/some group who does. That will be a beautimous day. * Some parts of the stadium pay money in order to NOT chant. I'm thinking mostly of the East side, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm prejudiced... but, if you are sitting in seats (not benches) most people around you will yell at you to sit down. Benchers can be non-chanters as well, they just need some 'encouragement'. π Okay, lots of thoughts. I'm a big fan of the cue cards. I can put some rough ones together if I get some direction to do so from the Loyalist "Crowd Co-ordination Chairman". Ha ha ha. Oh, thoughts on RCB/Loyalist co-ordination: * nothing really, just both group chant leaders leaning across the aisle and saying "hey, what's next..." Last edited by Scilaci : 08-22-2005 at 05:21 PM.
