Cabrera Called in for WC Qualifiers

New signing, Gustavo Cabrera, has been called in for the National Team World Cup Qualifiers at the beginning of September. Guate fans know that these are important matches for Guatemala since they are tied for 3rd place in the Hex (3 automatically qualify and #4 is in a play-in with the 5th place team in Asia). His work will surely be cut out for him. Buena suerte, Gustavo!

Dang that means Cabrera can't help RSL against the Revs and probably DC.
Well, I hope at least he doesn't get hurt in the WCQ and Guat (despite Ruiz) win.

Yeah, hoping he doesn't get hurt either. If it's any consolation, he has had only one injury for as long as I have watched him play (that has been five years), and that injury was the recent knee sprain that he received in the Gold Cup a few weeks ago. Other than that, he's always on the field and fit for as long as I can remember.

On the positive side, for those who don't follow Central American press (few outside Central America do), his signing has really elevated the visibility of RSL down there and I'm sure that his return to Guatemala will include many articles about Tavo and the team. The papers have even begun to provide match reports on RSL after every match even though he has yet to make a first team appearance.

Thats pretty awesome, and it helps get the name of RSL around!
