I too am glad to see Chris Agnello land an assistant job with RSL. Before moving to St. Louis, I was a die hard Blitzz fan following them from Rice to Skyline to BYU and back. In fact, some of my fondest memories of the team are the weekends that me and a bunch of my friends would pile in the car for a drive south the see the Blitzz play. I'll miss that team.

But my question is this: why wasn't Agnello named the Director of the Youth Academy? Johnson has next to no coaching experience while Agnello, in four years, won two championships, finished runner-up once and semi-finalist once. Sure, sure, this was D3, but he's a proven coach. That can't be said about Johnson. Oh, and let's not forget that Agnello has already builty his own, quite large Youth Academy. Why not let him continue his excellent work and just absorb the strides the Blitzz have already made?

I have nothing against Johnson; really. In fact, I don't know a thing about him. I'm sure there is something to him the Ellinger saw and liked. But I think Angello should at least be in charge of the Youth Academy, considerin his prior experience. He is a much better fit to direct youth development in Utah than a unproven assistant coach from the Midwest.

I wouldn't read too much into that line. I'm thinking that they simply mean that they want him to be the best he can be and anchor the goalie position for many years to come. After all, even if he is already the best goalie in the league, he could still improve. No one is perfect.

That's true, there probably isn't conspiracy and intrigue wrapped up in that line about Moller and Countess. But that brings me to the question, and maybe this goes elsewhere...

Will or should we bring in another established GK, or should we draft one and go with Countess?

goalkeeper?

Ther is a pretty good goalkeeper in the front office: Chad Sackett. He also speaks Portugees.

I agree Jim, however it's DN thats making the controversy by what they published. Do you talk about your starting GK as the "GK of the future"?

Yeah, sometimes. I think that people often say things, off the cuff, that sound different than what they actually meant to say. Also, we don't know how accurate the quote is. It could be that that is how it was remembered, but not EXACTLY what was said. But MY interpretation is what I said before.

But the real answer is...we'll see.
