❗ Support Hurricane Katrina relief efforts

I am sure you guys are aware of the devastation in the New Orleans/Mississippi area which was destroyed by the the huge Hurricane Katrina this week.

I live in Florida and survived 3 hurricanes last year. Although it was scary and tough for awhile for us, the people in New Orleans have it way worse.

Please remember them in your prayers and donate if you can to worthwhile charities that are seeking to help these poor people.

No problem.

I lived through last years horrible hurricane season and watched how much help ppl need.

I figured we could help in a small way by letting people know about how to help.

Thanks for the info, Soccerprime.

As someone who lived in Grand Forks during the flood of '97, I want to remind everyone that help is needed long, long, long after the disaster. Please take the approach that this is just the begining. And I'd encourage everyone to make a point of making a regular donation to your organization(s) of choice ever year.

Does anyone know if RSL is doing anything on top of this?

I read how the Metros are wearing orange jerseys this weekend but I hadn't heard if RSL is doing anything special.

I just know that there will be a moment of silence, but I haven't heard anything else.

Please keep those of us who aren't there posted if RSL does anything special. I've contributed but would love to also contribute in the name of RSL. Let me tell you, it's heartbreaking here in Houston as folks are showing up at the Astrodome and they are having to be be turned away. The dome is at capacity. My thoughts and prayers goe out to everyone with families that have been hit by this storm.

Kams Kauses, RSL, and The Red Cross are teaming up tomorrow night to benefit the Katrina victims and the disaster relief. I know some of you have offered in the past to help out, but all I really need are your voices. Please tell everyone that you see to stop by our booth and donate to the cause. We will do the normal raffle, as well as a plain donation bucket and I believe the Red Cross will have a someone there to answer questions.
