So he got in the front seat, started the car, and drove her to Houston.

If you can believe LA's Spanish language newspaper La Opinión; it's a Done Deal that Mexico's Club América is going to operate a Zopilotes Lite team in Houston.

So is the plan 2 teams in 2007 and two more in 2008? That seems to be a bit rash to me.

Garber has publicly said that the next expansion rounds will be in 2007 and 2008.

The Milwaukee group trying to get a stadium ready by 2008 is required by the league to have the land acquired by November of this year for a 2008 entry into MLS.

I have been following this pretty closely, and I have not heard about a 2007 possibility for Milwaukee's entry into MLS. The web site of the group doing this specificly says 2008 is their goal.

The current theory is that Toronto and "someone maybe named Houston" or Philly or St Louis or Cleveland (blah) will join MLS in 2007.

Milwaukee is kind of by itself, planning on 2008. Although I have not heard it officially, the common assumption that someone that doesn't get it in 2007 will join Milwaukee in MLS expansion in 2008.

Maybe 2008's other team will be Vancouver, that way it will just dilute the Canadian talent pool, not the American.

You know, if Toronto does get a team, I hope that MLS doesn't have a special rulebook that only applies to them. I hate that when leagues do silly stuff like that. If Toronto wants an MLS team, they should have to play by MLS rules. Canadians should still be considered SIs for them too or they shouldn't be for all of the other teams. Don't create silly and artificial rules that only apply to one team. Please.

It sounds like at least for the first Canadian team, Americans will be the SIs. If the league expands beyond one Canadian team, I think that both Americans and Canadians should count as domestic players.
