props to rsl fans

i found the following on a topic board for fifa 06. we are basically getting props from all sorts of places man!

"right now the stadium/pitch situation is what is holding the league down. many teams are renting fields to play on like american football and baseball fields. so they have to pay rent, and then they have to pay a large percentage of whatever they sell in concessions, merchandise, etc. and if they arent attracting that many fans, then they arent coming out on top as it is. however, teams are finally starting to get their own stadiums which is bringing in a lot more revenue. the los angelos galaxy's stadium is always hoppin' and the passion of the fans there is close to EPL fans. and yes im serious. thats about the only team...other than Real Salt Lake (crazy passion even though their team sucks!) but having the mls around is only going to produce better players for other leagues like howard, friedel, mcbride, beasley, etc. a growing mls can only mean better competition and better players world wide! go mls!"

i mean it's not much but heck at least they are talking about us right?

Yeah, it is great if they are at least talking about us, and in this case it is good talk. =) (and spot on.)

The thing is, if we can get Soccer Specific Stadiums, then the league will be making money. If they're making money, maybe they can afford to pay the players enough to keep them here. And that would be good for American Soccer.

We have great supporters and fans. I think the support will grow, as the team grows. I think it won't be long before Real Salt Lake is as much a part of the local culture as the Jazz is (are?).

Actually, I seldom meet anyone who doesn't at least know what Real Salt Lake is. And most people I talk to are at least generally supportive. So I think we're already very close to that situation. I think (and hope) that we could even surpass them in the next couple of years.
