Yeah for England and The Ashes

Ok, so I have no where else to be happy about this since my wife will listen but gives me that blank stare that says ... 'Cricket eh?, Huh, ...cool. No really honey, nice.' But I know that I won't be able to see the blank stares with everyone here.

But this is a marvellous occassion for the English, we haven't beaten Australia in The Ashes for nearly 20 years so this is huge! It may be of no iterest to anyone but me, but i just needed someone to post, for me, this is about 3rd in sporting events in the world! Yeaaaaa .... :signcheer

I was watching the highlights of that match on the World Sports Report. Quite interesting, although I don't quite get the way it's played and the scoring. :slobber: But very interesting.

Scholesy, one of my peeps in London sent me some pictures of the celebratory parade that went down the street where he works... you want me to e-mail them to you?

Odd that England would lose to N. Ireland in soccer and then win the Ashes for the first time in forever. It's like my sporting world is turning upside down. Next thing you know I'll be joining the Australian Rules Football forums and staying up until 4 in the morning to watch live matches.

By the way... does any one else see this as a good time to peruse Douglas Adams' commentary on Cricket and its wonderful origins? 🙂

I would bet money that most will Douglas who? And the others will say eh?

But classic as classic funnies go. Douglas Adams is a genius in my book.
