Well, he's one dedicated coach, if he was the one that 'lost' the game. I didn't know one person could play that magnitude of a game all by themself.

Regardless of the game's outcome, kudos to all the Loyalists and RCB who made the trip out there. You guys looked great in the stands. I could hear you loud and clear several times, and I could be sure it was you, playing our signature drum beat. I wish I could have been there, then again, to go all that way and lose it in another heartbreaker might have been too much.

Maybe I'll go next year, or maybe I'll save it until they have their SSS in 2007. We'll see.

Again, Great Job!

I just finished watching it, and I loved how our team played - especially the first half. We seemed to control the match, and I was impressed with the play of Mathis. Second half wasn't quite as good, though. That was difficult to watch when the CRapids got their second goal. Maybe we'll get a road win in San Jose... or not.

I listened to the game from work and heard Ryan Hatch mention something about a bunch of "The Loyalists" making it to the game. I wish I had been there with all of you, but I've gotta pay the bills somehow.

The first half rocked! We controled the ball about half of the time. Even after they scored, we didn't do too badly. How 'bout that goal from Mathis? Amazing! That should be the goal of the week, hands down, maybe even goal of the year. And he was involved in a lot of the play. Who is THIS Clint Mathis, and why haven't we seen more of him, this season?

The second half was pitiful! THEY controled the ball most of the time. We didn't have a midfield; every time the defence got the ball they simply kicked it as hard as they could, no attempt was made to pass and set up an attack; when someone did manage to start an attack, there was no one to finish it; once they got their second goal, the effort level fell dramatically;and to top it all off, WE HAD NO MIDFIELD!

I still think there's a fitness issue. They should spend the whole entire off season running their legs off. Then maybe they'll have enough gas to finish the game, next year.

AND NO IT'S NOT ELLINGER'S FAULT! It's no one person's fault.

Perhaps "Coach Ellinger lost the game" was a bit harsh and was probably an emotional statement at the time. I really am a big Ellinger supporter. It just appeared that subbing at half with fresh legs would of kept the momento going and a win. The first half was much better than our usual games. Mathis played a good game, something we should of been seeing all season. He did have a great goal. But what happened at half...it was like a whole different team (and not a better team)..Conditioning does seem to be a factor ..Let's look towards the next game and a win...

The Loyalists were on TV! That was cool...and you guys got a a couple of mentions during the game too. Well done!

Well I was willing to give Cabrera the benefit of the doubt since he was held in high regard by many on here....despite what I saw with my own eyes at the beginning of the Columbus match. Not anymore, though. Cabrera got beat on BOTH Colorado goals, and was beat several other times, but bailed out by various players. He's simply not getting the job done.

Great goal by Mathis...and he looked dangerous on a couple of other plays.

No reason at all, really, why they had to lose that match. It was the just the same story we've become very familiar with. The defense made a few critical errors, and we didn't finish chances.

[QUOTE]Cabrera got beat on BOTH Colorado goals
I was very disappointed in his play. Did anyone hear what happened to Dunny? AFter that header I knew he had to have pulled something, but they never said. I couldn't understand Andy Williams as a commentater. Bring back Roy Husdon! And, yes, my husband did laugh at me because Mathis' goal made me cry for 5 min. while squeaking nonsenses like, 😒 "Were gonna trade....(sniff) One touch! (drip drop) Knew he could do it! (sniff)

I was really enjoying watching the first few minutes, and I could hardly believe my eyes when Mathis knocked that ball in there. Man, it felt good to take an early lead, and it felt better to watch as we controlled the ball and largely shut Colorado out in much of the first half. I even fantasized a little about a first road win. Oh well.

It was a disappointment to see the equalizer, and demoralizing when in the 86th minute we gave away another. Still, I'm not as disappointed at the goals given away than in our continual lack of offensive production Why is it that we can't manage to score more than one goal a match?

When we hosted the Crew we had 24 shots, and 11 on goal. Still, only one shot went unsaved. Last night we had one-third of that production: 7 shots, 4 on goal... and the result was the same: one goal scored.

We've had a smattering of two goal games in the season, and of course there was the glorious 3-0 shutout of FCD, and even 3 versus Catolica, and 4 against the Thunder. Still, if my math is right we've had 32 goals in exactly that many games (including those exhibitions). Take out the exhibitions and we've averaged fewer than one goal per game - thanks in no small part to that record-setting - or not - scoring drought of May-June.

Props to Clint - that goal was beautiful! I can't wait to see more of that. I also know that stats don't say everything (he's tied with Jason for most assists, and tied in second place with Andy and Jordan with three goals scored). Still, for a guy who once made 5 goals in a game, I kinda hoped (and expected) to see that production matched (if not eclipsed) by this point in the season.

The result may have been different had Andy and Jason been in the game, too, who knows? Anyway, I'll stop ranting here. I just can't wait to see our guys in the form I know they can be in.

End post.

Well I just got into Iwakuni, Japan after 25 hours of travel, pull up the internet, and WHAM! RSL loses after leading, cheetos win (two points behind us now) and the Utes go down. I guess BYU laid an egg too, as did Weber State and the Aggies. No one is happy today.

Metro and KC just don't seem to want that fourth playoff sport in the east, LA all of the sudden has FCD's number, DC is making their patented late season push, and San Jose has all but wrapped up the Supporters Shield.

Meanwhile, RSL is looking at no playoffs, no road wins (San Jose?), no Rocky Mountain Cup, and--sorry to say--last place in the league.

On top of it, my kids' rec team lost for the first time this season on a PK.

Anyone have good news?
