I've been playing NCAA '06 and found that it was incredibly easy to win the Heisman and go undefeated, so I jacked up the difficulty to make it more realistic. I looked up all the player's names online and editted it so that all my players would have the right names. What I'm getting to here is that I'll play FIFA '06 the same way, but I sure would like to see RSL win the title in their first year. I may even play an entire season as Chivas' opponents just so they go 0-30-0 (or if you're European 0-0-30). This can't get here soon enough.

Be honest.

Of course I would! Let's see....I would have DadOf8 be the goalie, then it would be 1Of8 as an Xman, and 2Of8 as an RB. 3Of8 would be the kicker person, then 4, 5, 6 and 7Of8 would be the defenders. 8Of8 would ride in on his white stallion fully equiped with his most favorite bouncy/vibrating/musical Disney chair. His defensive moves would be to spit-up on everyone in site, even his own team. I would be the one that chases off all the players trying to get at the ball by shooting paintball pellets at them. The team would be called The Great 8's.

I have NO clue what type of game we would be playing, but it sounds like a combination soccer/football/jousting. We could call it Sooting.

Okay, I totally went off track. Sorry.

You need more sleep Momof8.
🙂

BTW is the FIFA 06 online option only available to Xbox users? I don't have an XBox.

RogDoug there's an option called the action replay card where you can actually download all 117 team rosters. Makes the game that much better for NCAA 06.

Does anyone have the PC version of FIFA06 yet? I read elsewhere that the MLS teams are included on some game platforms, but not on the PC version. Is this true? I want to buy the game only if RSL is included. (I don't own any newer game platforms, haven't bought one since the Nintendo64) I have an older (2001 or 2002 or so) FIFA game I bought in the bargain bin a few years ago, and am fairly certain MLS teams were on that one.

Looks like today is the official release date. It's been kind of interesting reading posts on the bboard for this title. Some people have been obsessed with getting their hands on it. (Check out some of the threads asking who has the title)

I don't think I'll lose sleep if I can't get it today. (after all, have a match to attend tonight)

I decided to wait and play the game a little more before discussing my thoughts on the game.

I have to say I disagree with most comments on this board about the game. I find it to be the best soccer game I’ve played up to this point, if you know what all the buttons are for and how to use them.

In Fifa ’05, all you had to do was hit a through ball until you got it to your striker and by then he was in a position to score. ’06 has taken that out of the game. You have to play as though you were playing in real life.

I’ve heard that it takes half the field to stop your momentum. That’s somewhat an exaggeration, but there is some of that in the game…unless you hit the black button (xbox) which helps stop your player quicker but also creates opportunities to open passing lanes for streaking forwards.

You have one touch options as well as 1-2 options. The game has it all.

You have four different offensive strategies weather you want to play a counter-attack style or if you want to play the ball with your wings, you can choose and play accordingly. You can also call these strategies on the fly, during the middle of the match without pausing the game and changing your settings. The same is said of the defensive calling as well.

The graphics are super and it’s really fun playing as our beloved Real Salt Lake.

Manager mode has been a lot of fun, but I can’t wait to start the tournament with all the world’s best. I can’t wait to play a world cup with it as well.

It’s not wonder that this game got gamespot.com’s best sports rating of the year. It’s that much better than NCAA Football 06, Madden 06, NBA Live 06 and NHL 06. I highly recommend it if you can master the controller.

The patch for the PC finally got released so I can start playing the game. (There was a problem with USB keyboards constantly sending signals that interrupted game play and you essentially had to unplug the keyboard during a match)

Cool that RSL is in the game. Surprisingly they have a 2.5 star (out of 5) rating.

Game is definitely much more involved and challenging than the last FIFA game I have (think it was 2000).
