Tarley News: Economist, soccer star lead field in Liberia polls

I figured since one of our newest players is from Liberia, this would be of interest to some here.

Plus, famous soccer star George Weah is leading in the polls.

Tarley is Liberian and he mentioned in the Minnesota papers a few weeks ago that he was hoping that his childhood hero Weah won.

Last night at the Skyboxx I asked Tarley about this and of course his reply was "I hope he wins".

Thanks for posting that. I realize this still off-topic, but I think Weah has a passion to do whats right for Liberia. Tarley knows what he is talking about when he backs him. Plus it doesn't hurt that he is a famous EPL player. 😉

Does Tarley really know? I realize Minneapolis has a strong Liberian community, @ 18,000, but I thought he grew up more here in the US than in Liberia. Seems like he may be a bit out of touch.

George Weah is a god! I'm normally not a big fan of exhibitions and friendlies but I was sooooo happy to have been at the Minnesota Thunder - Liberia National Team exhibition a couple years ago. It was a great game. Weah played and a ton of Liberians showed up.
