National Anthem

This really belongs in both the loy@list and RCB sections, but you can all read it here:

Yesterday I mentioned that it might be cool to have a representatives from the RCB and loy@lists (and any other groups that want to have some representation) sing the national anthem before one of the home games. Are any of you guys out there interested in doing something like that? I'm thinking maybe 4-8 people...Loyal1 could help out (he is after all a music instructor) and I know for a fact that some of you have very decent voices (Aero, utah_heretic and fuegote - I'm looking at you guys, and I know that you're not the only ones who can sing!)

I e-mailed Chris Keeney yesterday and mentioned this to him to kind of gauge his reaction, and he seemed to think that it would be a good idea...but Trey is the one to run in through.

If there's enough interest, I'll pursue it. Whaddya think?

I'm sooo in.
Scilaci has an excellent singing voice, so I'll speak on his behalf and volunteer him. (He's an old family friend and my kids call him Uncle Scilaci (okay, not really.. they use his real name....) so I know him pretty well).... he's in. 😉

You better make it the season opener, because after that most people's singing voices are shot for the rest of the season. At least I know mine is.

Bardguy:

Thanks for heading this up. I would be so excited about this because I love singing but would never want to perform alone. Talk to Trey! And if you don't want to, let me know and I'll contact him!

As I mentioned on the RCB site, my wife the opera singer would probably be interested (although I might be in trouble for speaking for her).

Isn't it funny that wives can volunteer their husbands for all sorts of things, but they get in trouble when they volunteer their wives for something, even if it is something that they actually want to do?

I'm still thinking about this.

I haven't seriously sang anything since madrigals and concert choir senior year.
