Playoffs -- Week 2 (R) Mmmkay. So the ass-clowns are going to be really excited about their shootout victory (how did Ruiz miss that PK at the end of overtime, seriously?), but that game blew in comparison to the Revs-Metros affair.
The Revs' attack makes me happy in my heart. Well, except for when they're playing us, of course. They get forward with so much speed -- I love it! This Smurfs-Galaxy game is getting fun now, too. Just waiting for a fight to break out...

can the officiating get any worse? Hall's miss on Agoos handling the ball in the PA was unbelievable. Lucky for the Revs (and Brian Hall) that in the end it didn't matter.
Good games today. Much better overall than last week. __________________

Well, whoever wins the Eastern Conference is who I'm pinning my hopes on.
Ever since LA hired Steve "Chad Deering and Brian Maisonneuve Are World Class" Sampson, I can't deal with them, and there's no way in hell I could wish anything other than death and dismemberment upon the Crapids. I'm excited for tomorrow's DC-Fire smackdown.

I only cheer for one team in the west. So I'm with you on pulling for the East.

I hate to say ... I called that result with Dallas but .... I did! After watching the first game I just felt that Colorado wanted it more, they are a scrappy team that will go the full 90. As I was saying it the other night on the broadcast i could hear all of you cursing at me but I just thought they would.
San Jose? I just hate that, I really, really hate it. To me at least it is obvious that they are the better team for the season - I think - in the entire MLS but when we have a knockout system like this for the season end it doesn't really prove who is the best- unless it's a straightforward play off with the teams that finish first place in the east and west. Now don't get me wrong, I think in a cup setting (a la FA Cup) it is a great way to provide extra everything, but for the league champions to be decided like this when we already knew going in to it who the most consistent team was makes me feel frustration. That and I really hate the Galaxy, no I mean really hate. They are the most undeserving team in thia league. They have had everything handed to them on a platter and have worked for nothing. So I hate to say it, I really, really do ... but I'll be cheering for Colorado against the Brats. Overall I'm New England all the way - can't not be with Stevie as the coach, my Liverpool childhood hero. OK there are my jealous rantings done. Now if DC can just screw it up .... Well I said Chicago would win but I never thought that they would hand DC their butts on a plate. Wow, what an interesting game.

Soccer is a cruel game. And today it was cruel to DC. Chicago had the better gameplan and DC couldn't get the bounces. Add those together and the Fire move on to play the Revs.
Stupid fouls and red cards don't help either. I'm hoping for an LA-Revs final, but I'd take LA-Fire. The CRapids ahve the best goalkeeper in the league but otherwise are KC Junior. Like JLL I was a Galaxy fan before RSL was formed so I don't share the anti-LA thing. I'd even say that Metro are the team that has been handed the most over the years and have no trophies to show for it. At least LA has five domestic trophies in the case, tied with the Fire for second in the league. As for the playoff system, it works for me. I support the domestic treble as the goal for every team each year. It's clear the league pushes the MLS Cup as the big prize, but for me the Supporters' Shield and US Open Cup are comparable trophies. I like the fact that in soccer there are several ways to win a championship each year, and the ultimate is to win all three. It's telling that in the ten years that MLS has existed no team has been able to win all three trophies. RSL might as well be the first to do it. Next year. __________________

That DC-Fire game was unreal.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for DC, it kept getting worse. I wish Waldo would like get over the whole Freddy Adu thing already though... it was old before kickoff, and he just kept going on about it.

Love those talking points. We've got our notes and we're going to pelt the audience with them regardless of what's happening on the field. __________________
