OK OK....this is what happened....

I went to Dallas to watch the game on Sunday and before the game they had a bunch of tents set up where they were giving things away and there were a few players signing autographs. One of them was Scott Garlick, GK from FC Dallas. I was going to take a pic of him with my friend and I was wearing my RSL jersey. He looked at me and smiled...(a very nice smile I must say) and I thought he was gonna say something about our team...so I said...Next year...we will be here next year... and he said...I might be here with you....and I thought to myself...????????????????????? hmmmmmmmm we are both western conf teams so what the heck does that mean? He continued to say how much he likes our team and loves Salt Lake and would enjoy living here. He really said it more like...I WILL like living in SLC.... I kinda just looked at him and he smiled again. I went back later to have him sign a soccer ball I won and I said well, I would really miss DJ but..... and that I would see him in Salt Lake and he said something like yea you will. I asked my friend later and she agrees that he was totally talking like he was trying to tell me we were maybe trading for him or something. I havent heard anything else to confirm this, but the more I think about it the more I think perhaps this was a big hint. Anyone got anymore imput? I think today is the last day for trades this season isnt it??????

That is interesting. I for one, would see getting Garlick as our GK a upgrade from Countess.

Although I guarantee that Dallas is the last team that would take Countess in a trade.

Im sad too. I love all the guys we have and it will be really sad to see them go. Especially if it was DJ as he has always been so wonderful and sweet and accessible and gives really great hugs... BUT... Sigh... Thats the nature of the game. At least we can follow them on throughout their career and see them a few times a year.

On an up note. I cant tell you guys how many people came up to me at the game and said really wonderful things about Jamie Watson. GO JAMIE...

There were many that thought Jamie was going to FCD in the draft, but they traded their second pick away for a veteran (Cornell Glenn). Apparently Collin Clarke was under the gun to get players that would make an immediate impact. I think some fans were not happy about losing him.

Oh well, their loss.

Dallas fans appreciation for Jamie Watson is about all the Dallas and SLC fans have in common, right ReAl?

Garlick may be a slight upgrade (which is debatable), but even so he's a much shorter-term solution. He's already 10 years older than Countess/Nolly. If he were considerably better, then I'd say go for it, but why not develop Nolly? I just wouldn't be able to get myself excited about this move.

Excited about Garlick? Probably not.
But I rather have Garlick starting and Nolly as a backup at this point.
