Kudos to LA GALAXY FANS!! Yes...you heard me right! Ok...I would like to tell you about my experience at the Cup game this weekend....and I am not sure what you guys might think, knowing everyones thoughts about LA GALAXY...BUT..............heres my story.
Me and my friend Jessica went to the MLS CUP game in Dallas last weekend. I had called a guy at FC DALLAS tkt office to get tickets that I thought would be with the fan clubs of all the teams that werent playing. Before the game I had made my mind up to route for Revolution (not that I really cared all that much). As those of you who watched the game know, LA had a huge amount of fans show up for the game as I hope we will when it is our turn. Well...it just so turned out that for whatever reason, our tickets were in the first row RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the LA RIOT SQUAD fan club. I was wearing my RSL jersey (RSL REPRESENTING-free advertising Checketts) and my friend was also in red. Now, when I got down to about the third row I realised where our seats were and had a moment of temporary panic. We were surrounded by probably a hundred people in yellow jerseys! What the hell am I to do? The game is sold out and there was no where to move to...and dang it...I had front row seats and didnt want to give them up. So I bravely pushed my way through the swarm of LA people that had overtaken our seats (of course almost all men-I later counted four women in the bunch). At first they gave us hell..."hey what the hell are you doing here? This is the LA section"..."what the hell are a bunch of mormons doing here?" And so on. I was sort of worried but I am also stubborn, so I claimed the area in front of my seat. Luckily the two guys we pushed in between were really nice and sort of took us under their wings and made room for us. We agreed to quickly switch our allegencies and route for LA and they agreed to let us stay LOL. One guy even gave us an LA scarf (perhaps to help hide our red shirts). As the game continued and they saw that we are excellent yellers and took part in their hilarious chants, they warmed up to us. By the end of the game I had a bunch of new friends. Whenever we go to LA now we are welcome with open arms. After the game they invited us to party and we went back to the hotel where the players were staying. There I got to meet even more of their fans who all had great things to say about our team (especially JAMIE) and our promise for the future. We got to meet some of their players including your favorite-Landycakes....and they were even kind enough to let me hold the CUP (yes, in my REAL jersey...I was just warming it up for our team next year!) and get my picture taken with it. I have to say, that as far as fans go, they were great in accepting us and taking us in. I cant say enough good things about them. They showed good fanmanship and their actions were good for the sport in general. I would also like to say kudos for the Rev's fan club also as after the game they came over to where we and a bunch of the LA fans were partying in the parking lot and, with a bottle of champagne in their hands said "Well, we had really bought this for our team to celebrate our victory, but this night belongs to you guys so we want you to have this bottle of champagne to celebrate your victory." I couldnt think of anything that showed more the spirit of soccer in this country than that one gesture. After all...as Commisioner Garber said at the supporters summit... If the MLS is going to survive we need every team.... So...I give my kudos to both the LA Galaxy fans and the Rev fans. I hope under the same circumstance we (the RSL fanclubs) show the same grace and spirit. And, perhaps my friend Jessica EDSTROM is right: Soccer is the answer to world peace!!!! Heres to the LA RIOT SQUAD and the Revolution fans 🕺 🕺 Julia Link to my pix of MLS CUP

but I thought that LA had the dirtiest most classless fans in the league
right Colorado? __________________

LMAO...maybe everyone should get to know people before judging them.... they did have some great chants that wouldnt be looked upon well in our state, but that was all the more fun! And I didnt see any classlessness anywhere. I think the world in general could use more inclusiveness instead of picking on people because they are different or because they route for what one thinks is the wrong team. We are all soccer fans first. Its time to lighten up on the Colorado fans especially....
Just my thoughts.... | |||||

you said it ever so eliquently...the Galaxy fans were great to us. 🙂 its so hard being a soccer fan in this country....most people in Dallas didn't even know that FC Dallas exhisted. After asking every person we met if they had heard of the team I was beinging to think they didn't exist. I tried the same experiment in Salt Lake...and so far-everyone has known about the Real. We are actually quite lucky. I'd also like to give a challenge to anyone who says Sandy is too far away to build a stadium...go to dallas and find the frisco pizza hutt park....just a challenge. to explain it...it would be like us building the stadium in Eagle Mountain. hahah...guess we should count our blessings. :dancing:

I like to think that taking them some Polygamy Porter when I was there last year was the key to the hearts of the Riot Squad.
But the '96, '99 & '01 MLS Cup finals have given most Galaxy fans a pretty good sense of humor and they are mostly pretty good people to begin with.
