What parts did they take out?
If you remember a big part of the book was house elves and Hermione's SPEW movement......house elves and SPEW aren't even mentioned in the movie. I'm sure other things are missing but I haven't read the book in a while. The movie is basically just the tournament, a little bit of awkward teenage romance, and Voldy's return. I thought the movie was good but it felt a little rushed.

And Ralph Fiennes was great as Voldemort. He may become the most hated actor in the business after playing Voldemort, the bad guy in Schindler's List, and doing that horrible chick flick with JLo that my wife made me watch.

Saw it last night...my $.02

Decent job of making a coherent story (though rushed) out of a loooong book.

More Weasley twins...all good.

Cinemetography paled as compared to #3...but rewatch #3, that director is freakin brilliant.

Quiddich cup stadium was quite cool. Dragon was well done.

GREAT Voldemort! Mad-eye Mooney actor did well.

Actor playing Harry continues to improve...Ron is treading water...Hermione needs better directing to keep from aggravating (again, see #3).

After the first challenge (dragons) the 2nd and 3rd seemed anticlimatic.

I appreciate that the actors were allowed to be a bit more British.

All in all, I give this director a B. The Tri-Wizard tournament is great material for a movie, and he did what he needed to do to set up the next movie, but he did not add much. They will need a director who is better with getting the best out of his actors for #5...renamed "All About Harry's Angst"...

Thanks guys for the write-ups.

I thought Prisoner was excellent, so I have high hopes that Goblet is even better.

Any rumors on the next movie, Order of the Phoenix?
I guess the big new character for that one would be Narcissa. Who plays her at the end of Goblet? Another important character would be Tonks, Mundungus or Kingsley Shacklebolt (Samuel L Jackson anyone).

I don't remember seeing anyone from the Order of the Phoenix except for MadEye Moody, at the very end. I think Jackson would be a great pick, if only because he was a Jedi... so why not a wizard? Makes sense to me.

I saw it and thought it was the best of the movies so far. People say that if you've read the books the movie was bad, but I read it and like the movie. Maybe thats just because I read it like four years ago....
