I've never been impressed by Bo. I'm not even sure I'd take him over DJ. He's old, he doesn't have a lot of upside and I've always felt that 2/3 of the reason behind KC being stingy on defense, on the days they have been, were Gansler's tactics, not Bo's skills or defensive organization abilities.

With Klein occupying the R-mid spot, Williams can move to A-mid and Ballouchy can be under less pressure coming off the bench (super sub?). However I don't think this is an ideal situation as Williams doesn't strike me as a pure A-mid......he has a dribble first mentality and a lot of times he pauses too long with the ball which ruins our rhythm. He's more suited to play the wing where he can use his speed and footwork. I'd like to see Ballouchy develop fast enough where he can be starting by August or so. Then your midfield becomes Klein at R-mid, Williams at L-mid, Sequiera at H-mid, and Ballouchy at A-mid. Now that's a midfield I could get used to.

Let's hope these guys gel quickly. It's almost like the beginning of last year where nobody knew each other, and I know last year it was a problem. The preseason this year is going to be critical.
All very true, but if you saw Andy with the Fire in 2003 you saw how beautifully he played a-mid with Razov and Ralph up front. Of course he had Beasley on the wing back then, but still, he played superbly.

Well then, let's hope Scarlett can turn into our poor man's Beaseley. 🙂

And now that I think about it, that has happened a lot this off-season. Ellinger certainly has been busy. Are the people that wanted him fired after the season at least willing to give him a little while longer now? 😁
How much of this is Big E's doing, and how much is Pastorino? Steve's definetely the best in the league! I'm getting more and more excited for April! Now I have to decide which star to have on the back of my '06 jersey - Cunningham? Kreis? Kleine? Pope?

It appears to be general knowledge that the personnel decisions are left up to Ellinger and his staff and Pastorino is the financial organizer and checkbook. Pastorino may be the best in the league at what he does...but player personnel is not his thing.

Side note: anyone find it interesting/conincidental that all of these good personnel decisions have taken place since Kamler was added to the staff? :dancing:

I think that Cutler played quite well as a rookie in the holding midfield spot. I mean he earned himself a trip to Germany over the summer. That says something. He certainly wasn't ideal, but he isn't total crap either. Sorry to burst your bubble as well, but I am sure he will start a few games during the WC. Sequeira will be gone (assuming it is Sequeira that is playing the holding midfield spot) and I would fully expect Kenny to step in and do an acceptable job again. There is also a slim chance that Klein will be gone as well. It is nice to have a shiny, new midfield, but may not be so nice when they all take off for the WC and MLS still continues to play games.

Anyway, great trade for RSL. I was shocked to hear that we also got a youth international spot. Now we just need to go out and find a great young international player to fill that spot 🙂

From what I understand, Coach E is in charge of personnel and Steve is in charge of the business aspect of things. Coach gets to decide which players are on the team.

He wasn't impressed by Jamie, either. I was so pissed at the ref during that game at KC. After Burciaga's revenge hit, then Bosh going and headbutting Jamie after the game (I'm not saying Jamie didn't necessarily deserve it, but c'mon, that was very ROMO of Bosh). I hate Bo. Klein seems like a right nice fellow, however. Here's to RSL's 2006 midfield: :wine: and here's to Klein scoring some disgustingly easy goals on Bo, wherever he may play.
