The 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft will take place on Thursday, January 26 4pm ET.

Teams will choose from the players not selected in the SuperDraft. There will be four rounds in the original SuperDraft order, before any trades. RSL will have three picks in the first, second, and third rounds. Their fourth round pick was traded to Colorado.

Any word on it being televised?

Think we're gonna give some defenders a shot?

Why do they do this? I don't get it. Why not have more rounds of the draft rather than slapping some label onto it, having it a few days later, and trying to pretned this isn't really jsut a few more rounds of the draft?

This is MLS. Don't ask questions, just nod your head and smile blankly...

I would guess it gives the FOs a little bit of time to analize who they've got and what they need to round out their roster/who they can take chances on. Lots can also happen between the drafts in terms of trades (such as the Klein deal, cementing our midfield)

MLS isn't the NFL or NBA. They don't have high powered and highly paid scouting system.

They essentially need a week or two to figure out who else is out there for their needs.

We now have 4 choices because of the Cila trade.

I think the bigest question today will be who picks up New Mexico star forward and runner-up for the Herman Award Jeff Rowland.

Many in the college soccer circles were puzzled why such a great college player was so obviously dissed in the SuperDraft. I know the obvious reasons that he might not make a good pro player but there were already 48 selections ahead of him.

Ouch.
