Here are the number of ESPN2 or ABC games by home team:
DC United -3 LA Galaxy - 2 Chivas USA - 2 FC Dallas - 3 Chicago Fire - 3 Columbus Crew - 2 Kansas City Wizards - 0 Real Salt Lake - 2 NE Revs - 3 Metrostars - 1 Colorado Rapids - 0 Houston 1987 - 3 Did I get that right? Pretty evenly spread out.. except KC and Col of course, but why would MLS want them on tv anyway? __________________

Looks like ESPN finally figured out not to show the lack of home crowd in KC and Colorado.
Another good thing to see is that the two RSL home games ESPN2 is going to broadcast are in the Spring. No more games in the middle of the day in August. That Chivas game we had that started at 2pm almost killed me.

A few more interesting notes.
The Texas Derby The first meeting between Houston 1836 and FC Dallas will be in Houston on May 6th but then the very next week Houston will be in Dallas and on ESPN2 on May 13th. They will play again on ESPN2 on Sat. August 12th durring PrimeTime starting at 7:30 MST. The LA Derby Both games that ESPN2 will broadcast will be in PrimeTime. Saturday April 15th at 9pm MST and then Thursday June 8th at 8pm MST. Houston 1836 vs CD Chivas Two games will be shown on ESPN2. July 8th in Houston at 4pm MST (that could be a terrible hot game) and then again at 10pm MST on August 26.

It's a long road trip for Chicago until they get their stadium opened.

I was planning on attending a Chicago Fire game since I will be visiting family around the 4th of July. I was absolutely stoked to see that RSL will be there June 28th. Roadie, but I don't think I'll wear my gear in section 8 for fear of beheadings... I'll just wear my gear in a less fanatical section.

And here are the number of times each team is on ESPN2/ABC, whether home or away:
Chicago Fire - 7 DC United - 6 LA Galaxy - 6 FC Dallas - 5 Houston 1989 - 5 Chivas USA - 5 NE Revolution - 4 Columbus Crew - 3 Metrostars - 2 Real Salt Lake - 2 Colorado Rapids - 2 KC Wizards - 1 I think the league is doing a pretty good job of showing the "marquee" franchises (DC, LA) as well as showing teams in SSSs. Though I am surprised that Chicago trumped everyone and MLS's darling the Metros only get 2 showings. __________________

I think Fire got more than Metros for the very reasons you stated. Although I agree MLS has a biased slant towards the Jersey team, they play in way too big of a stadium that looks horrid on TV.
Fire will be in Bridgview by June and that will look, to be modest, awesome.
