Chelsea vs. Barça [R]

Barça win! The mighty Chelsea fall! 2-1, at Stamford Bridge. Each side had an own goal and Eto'o puts it away in the 80th minute. Chelsea got a red card in the first half. Now Chelsea must score at least twice at the Nou Camp to stand any chance of going through.

Did you see Jose's comments after the match? I wonder if any punishment from UEFA will be coming for them. Not only did he seem call Messi a cheat but seems to in the end dispute the referees credibility.

Messi was the reason Barca won that game. Chelsea had no answer for him.

If cheating is colliding with someone who runs into you, I guess he was a big cheater. I thought the kick he took to the knee a little earlier that wasn't called at all was a worse foul, but I was happy to see the chelsea defender get that red card (just because he started screaming/yelling like a girl after the collision).

Frankly, Chelsea is a better team in the sense that they have more balance and depth in all positions. But, their focus on Ronaldinho opened things up for Messi. I look forward to seeing Messi play for many years to come.

I was glad to see the own-goals even out. I thought that would have been a cruel way to lose. Barca played terribly the first half, but second half things really opened up.

this is my first year really paying attention to the champions league (crap, last year at this time I had no idea who these two teams were) and what a concept, having the best clubs in Europe play in a tournament to see which is the better club.

BCS...can you hear me...

It's a treat to watch.

That picture reminds me, so Robben's flopping after the incident with Reina a couple weeks ago......

fuegote, the CL can be fun to watch. Like any league / tournie, some games can be stinkers, especially when you get the big boys playing each other. But even in a bland game, there are beautiful moments. Like last year with Milan - Barca. Ronaldihno won that game. He did nothing for most of the game. In fact, I think he spent half of it lying on the ground, smacking it in frustration. But he had one moments where he pulled off the perfect move and scored and Barca won.

that first kick to the knee was what I was talking about. that one was more worthy of a card IMO. great find by the way. (right click, save to desktop)

Watching Del Horno scream and roll on the ground made it appear he had been shot in the throat. strange reaction.
