are we going to see some 3-5-2 this year? Or are we to expect that some of those mids will play defender from time to time? Not a lot of defenders on the roster...

I think we can expect some 3 5 2. We do have several players that have shown they can play multiple positions as well.

Wouldn't that help free up some of our attacking mids to not worry as much about defense, or am I up in the night with that?

I think Ellinger likes the 3-5-2 and we know that Clarke (FCD) and Nicol (Revs) used it with some good success last year. (On a side not, does anyone else think its funny that MLS's lone Liverpool-trained coach is using a 3-5-2?).

If we could play Jimenez and Klein on the wings, and Williams towards the center, it could work. I would imagine that in this scenario, we need Ballouchy to start though, not sure if thats going to happen, at least in the beginning.

So... any guesses, then, on the starting line-up for the first game?

Sorry. Must have stumbled into the wrong thread. This looks like an actual discussion about soccer. My mistake. I'll be leaving now.

Cut us some slack.

The Chivas USA of legislative bodies; the Utah State Legislature, was just in session. It's so horrifying, it's humorous & very entertaining.

So our attention was distracted.

And we aren't an hour and a half away from USMNT games, Mexico NT games and MLS preseason matches..............

Is it really so important that all our rookies don't have MLS experience?

Or is it more important that they know this team?

By definition all rookies have no experience.

Rookies obviously have experience playing soccer. But is it normal for a rookie with college experience to be able to come in and play well?
